Sorry, but those substitutions did it for me 19:49 - Oct 4 with 1252 views | PatfromPoole | I was actually quite open-minded about Still’s appointment. But today was utterly brainless. No right-minded person would take off Scienza for Downs, or Shea Charles (our best player by a mile today) for Downes. It’s as if he had a huge bet on the draw. [Post edited 4 Oct 20:18]

He is about inspiring as a lettuce. He just substitutes people on and off the pitch, like rock, paper scissors. Never managed in England, never played football, never won promotion - ridiculous appointment. I just knew they would go for this experiment rather than appoint Rohl, proven at this level. Many said give him a chance, fair enough. But I just knew he would be useless. I just knew it.

The Portsmouth game is the one which baffled me. Haven’t failed to understand what the manager was trying this much since Forest at home under Jones. Yes, we lost badly under Wuss: think Chelsea and Tottenham. But that was because of what he was trying, a dogmatic ideological form of passing round the back to bore the opposition. This, now, this, is plain sh*t. I like how Still wishes to be pragmatic. I celebrate his lack of ideology. But have a plan at least!

| We thought that we had the answers,
It was the questions we had wrong. |
