Defenestration sensation sweeping the nation! 10:44 - Oct 6 with 604 views | Joesus_Of_Narbereth | Seems like another Russian elite has tragically and completely accidentally plummeted 70 feet out of a high rise window. Vyacheslav Leontyev, a top media mogul that ran several publications over many decades including Pravda the mouthpiece of the state run communist party managed to live 87 years without falling clumsily out of a window but it seems his luck has run out. Kremlin investigators who were fortuitously already on the scene were unable to save him and following a lengthy 38 second investigation immediately declared his death “a definite accident”. It’s estimated that falling from windows accidentally has killed a member of the Russian elite every 60 days in the last 3 years making it the leading cause of death in that demographic. Here’s a short list of just some of those unfortunate souls who definitely tripped, stumbled or deliberately jumped from a great height: https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2025/09/25/death-by-falling-a-timeline-of-cases-a [Post edited 6 Oct 10:48]

More like splatting Czechs. Many actually survived. They claimed that the Virgin Mary had appeared to them as they were hurtling through the air, gathered them up and laid them softly on the ground. Truth is they landed in a big pile of horse shit which softened their fall. Perhaps these Russian oligarchs should invest in some compost heaps.

It’s a great word isn’t it. To throw someone out of power in a very literal sense, in the same way they would throw out their piss and shit. Brutal.

Unfortunately it seems unless it’s about Gaza or immigration people aren’t really engaging on here like they used to. This post has gone down like a defenestrated Russian.

The decline of the Welsh language is massively misunderstood by millions, particularly those infuriating Welsh Nat idiots. Truth is there was never a conscious attempt to destroy it. The Tudors actually protected it, Elizabeth I insisted that the bible was translated into Welsh and paid for a copy to be sent to every church in Wales. People point to the fact that Welsh was banned by Henry VIII from official spaces, public office etc but that was to do with efficiency and to save the faff of having to use translators. They did the same with French. People were still able to use it freely at home and out and about. The single biggest impact to the Welsh language was hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people migrating into Wales to find work in the heavy industry spawned by the Industrial Revolution. Almost overnight Wales went from having nearly all Welsh speakers to about 20% Welsh speakers and it’s never recovered since. Schools then started teaching in English because the huge majority of kids spoke English. Interesting that Plaid Cymru who were set up pretty much exclusively to protect the Welsh language now want to carry on with this “nation of sanctuary” nonsense and invite millions of Arabic and swahili speakers in no questions asked. What effect will that have on the language? Anyway got off topic a bit. Back to the defenestrations. I blame it all on gravity. It gets me down.

Bin my opinion Henry 8 th was a vient thug and probably objected to Welsh for some contemporary issue probably teaming to the monasteries. The Monarchy was responsible for trashing Neath Abbey Stata Florida and Tintern. King Charles as head of the faith in England at least should rebuild them from his own pocket. He got a £45m pay rise from wind fams t last year and should reinvest it in Hibs for stone masons r to be trained and renovate these magnificent structure the monarchy ordered to be destroyed. The Russian jumping is a symptom of modern day thuggery in the Kremlin. Fear of them extends to the West and few actually call out Putin and waste time on weak introspection like reviewing if the West were part responsible for the war. The West should be saying to Russia kick out the little fellow and his nasty chums and we rebuild your shattered infrastructure and get those pipelines flowing again. Donbass can become like Wales and Crimea goes back to Ukraine.as it is unusable for Russia.

The dissolution of the monasteries was a political necessity. They owed their allegiance to the Pope, not the Crown. Their wealth and power was a threat and they had been the thorn in the side of every monarch for half a millennia. Also there’s little evidence he objected to Welsh at all. In fact he gave more rights than any king previously. His father slew Richard III under the banner of the Welsh dragon of Cadwalldr. The dragon featured prominently on much of his regalia. He was acutely aware of his families history and that his position had been made possible by the support of the Welsh nobles. His brother Arthur who would have been king if it were not for his untimely demise did not gain that name by accident. There is debate over whether he himself could speak Welsh. Henry VII probably could as he was raised by a Welsh nanny who could only speak Welsh. Elizabeth I definitely did. She was a polyglot and borderline genius who actively chose to learn Welsh.

Your third paragraph, I was not aware of. Thank you.
