Honest as always. An off day, struggled with the low block. Didn't compete as they wanted to. I like the post match reaction today from him and Stephan. They know the issues. No need to panic. No need to blame. Just get it sorted and react next time. On the plus side, his hair is really lush now! :)

Never knowingly right.

Yep, good interview. Spoke much better than the previous time when he was interviewed after a disappointing result/ Plus he makes a lot of good points. Hope they get taken on board.

Honest, yes, but his time is up,that goal today mirrored the goal last week against Millwall. He doesn’t have the pace anymore.

Really?? Do you not think that Nardi should not have come out 5 yards to deal with the skyed ball into the 6 yard box??

For the goal half the players in the box stopped with their hands up, Cookie being one of them.

Smells like a trout farm in here

Don’t want to get all Freudian, but this manager rather than the manager?

He never had much pace, as I recall. Nardi's latest howlers all seem to be blamed on Cook turning 34 which is rubbish in my view.

We've had a decent start to the season, really, especially considering the "form" of the two goalkeepers we've had throughout it!

Not sure it is right to blame Cook for the goal.....it wasn't a good goal to concede (none are I suppose) but when you want the keeper to deal with a 'lob' into the box he should be dealing with it.

I don't think he could have done anything about that goal.

He is a worry, though. There's a lot of stopping and pointing going on, very little of the I'll clear it now and we'll talk about it later. That can happen when a player's legs go. I think it's too early to know if Cook's have just yet. He could be injured or just out of form.

Pace in a defender is a great attribute to have, but Cook has never had it and relies more on positional awareness and reading of the game, which he has always been good at. Anything can happen when you sling crosses into the box filled with 8 or 9 players. Nardi simply isn’t big enough or strong enough to command his six yard box and is clearly uncomfortable coming for the high balls in a packed box.

More telling for me are the comments around (ball) control and intensity. Our ball control is generally poor and we really need to work on picking up the pace of the transitions. Difficult if you can’t get the ball under immediate control and look to progress the ball.

What Cook is basically saying is that 'man for man' most players were not 'on their game' and we did not have any ideas how to break down a well organised defence.....and next week during training they will look at the video and see what we could (& should) have done a lot better.

You break it down by stretching the defence with pace and incisive passing. Chair, Saito, Dembele, Poku and Smyth are built for just that.

His hair is quite simply superb now, it was certainly the best thing on display yesterday.

For a team supposed filled with quick, clever, skilful players, we didn't look any of those things yesterday.

Not sure where you got that from but it is not factual.

I believe that we have a fairly rounded squad with some decent players and are a Team which work together.....that should keep you in the top half of the table and better if we get more consistent.
