Never ever lets us down!!

We can't get away with playing him at left back many times (although as usual was excellent today) but he could play centre half and i'd have him left side of a back 3 or playing with Caulker in a 4-4-2. Better than Rio IMHO

Youve got to love him, at 36 just comes out the cold and doesnt give the winger a sniff, if only he was ten years younger.

He is in great physical shape for 36 and looked completely comfortable again at this level. Top man. He probably celebrated with an iron man challenge and a mountain climb.

Never knowingly right.

glad that harry swallowed his pride and went back to a flat back 4 , defenders seem to know what they were doing for a change.

He is a true QPR legend. We can't seriously play him as a regular left back, he couldn't really play that position even in the championship. His professionalism and character are to be admired. He was better than Rio, for me Ferdinand became a bigger weak link the longer the game went on.

Suspect that was enforced by the Remy sale as we did not have two striker to play would not be surprised to see it back for Man U

losing simpson and remy was bad losing hill would be heart breaking

Whatever happens, he should never be behind Dunne in the pecking order

If you was a Mackem you would be scratching your head as to why your winger couldnt expose a 36 yr old centre half playing LB

Fair enough, but I'd be happier still if, having spent the whole pre-season making it clear he wanted to play 3-5-2, and bought players accordingly, and brought in a coach specialising in that system, he'd managed to put out a team that knew what they were doing in a 3-5-2 system.

If playing Clint Hill, God bless him, out of position at full back is going to be the answer to our defensive system for the rest of this season then it makes me wonder what the question was.

Don't get me wrong, great result, good performance from what I'm told, and Clint Hill is as ever a hero. And Redknapp is due credit for it too. But I'm still scratching my head as to what our long-term team is going to look like, not to mention what system we would use that could possibly result in Onuoha getting a game at central defence.

Agreed. Great result, and great performance all round. But I'm confused as to what our long term plan is. Feels like signings have been built for 3-5-2, but we reverted to 4-4-2 today.

Some great pressing up the pitch today, how we could have done with him at Spurs.

As I said in the week to a mate 'if we're going to play a 30-something centre back who is not quick but is good in the air, on the left of the three, it should be Hill not Dunne'.

Although I think we looked much better with the 4 at the back.

just did a little research as my memory isn't as it was. He's only been with us for 4 years, seems much longer, and I had forgotten that he went on loan to Forest too, when we had seemingly not required his presence, only to recall him when it was realised that we did. He has had his fair share of injuries in his past, including a broken leg and cruciate knee damage. Maybe he can give Faulin some hope that there is a way to return. a true Queens Park Rangers hero, step forward Mr. Clinton Scott Hill, we salute you.

Clint Hill. What a man! Indomitable, invulnerable, insuperable, unconquerable.

Clint Hill had two messages for the QPR hierarchy after victory over Sunderland - buy players and stick with 4-4-2.

Hill was given his first Premier League appearance of the season in a 1-0 win, starting at left-back as Harry Redknapp went with a back four rather than the wing-backs system tried against Hull and Tottenham.

And the 35-year-old urged Redknapp to stick with a tried and tested formula as the change helped end a run of three straight defeats.

He told Sky Sports: "I think we worked well as a four, so hopefully we’ll take the positives from that.

"Everyone knows the system, probably played it most of their careers at the back and in the middle so we know our formation, know our system, and know our individual roles in it. Hopefully we’ll stick at it.

"We’ve got to take the positives from it - clean sheet and we managed to score a goal which always helps."

Hill started in place of Armand Traore, who is teh subject of a bid from Crystal Palace, and Rangers are expected to do plenty of transfer business before Monday night's deadline.

Danny Simpson is on his way to Leicester and Loic Remy is expected to join Chelsea, while Lassana Diarra has undergone a medical ahead of a move to Loftus Road.

Hill said: "It’s going to be a busy 48 hours for everybody. We need people in. I’m sure the gaffer and the chairman will do that and it gives us a two-week break now to bed them in.

"Hopefully then we can hit the ground running against Manchester United away. It doesn’t get any tougher than that what with Ashley Young always diving and acheating."
