Shaughnessy did next to nothing up top against Burton and in his cameo against Northampton, so may not get another chance. Like Lund, he just doesn't look comfortable there, though hopefully there's more to come from him somewhere on the pitch because he hasn't really impressed me yet.

I don't think we'll get drubbed tonight but I can easily see Hull winning comfortably 2 or 3-0, without ever having to get out of first gear. At the moment I really don't think I can be bothered paying to watch, but come kickoff I'll probably cave in and stump up as I usually do.

Very true re Connor S. Not sure what the alternative is though considering lack of height.

Would be tempted to give this a try too, especially with the dearth of midfielders at present. We know McNulty is more comfortable in a back-three, and Osho is far better as a centre-back than a right-back too.

Ideal time to try it out now with two tough games we're not expected to win - not sure who would play right wing back if Keohane and McLaughlin are out but we need to try something different.

Not a dig at you in the slightest, but he obviously did next to nothing up top because he's a defender/defensive mid, not a target man.

Lund's goals dried up when he was put into that role, so no wonder a defensive player can't do anything there either.

If we're going to have a long outball, Humphries is more than capable to win a ball in the air, and that would mean Shaughnessy being able to play in his natural position providing much needed cover for the centre-backs, with a centre-mid or wingers attacking what Humphries knocks down.

It's something that anybody who's watched 90 minutes of football would be able to see, you'd think.

"...with a centre-mid or wingers attacking what Humphries knocks down"

Ah, isn't this where Matt Done is far more proven, experienced, and capable? Not picking him there, whilst picking him at LB, constitutes two wrongs in a single selection.

TVOS will tell me if I'm wrong, but of all the regular starters, hasn't Done got more goals for Dale than the rest?

He's injured, likely to miss at least a couple more.

Yes - of all current players which has scored most for Dale. Is it Done, Humphreys or Lund?

I don't know what point I'm trying to make really, except he can score and isn't a proper LB.

Done: 269 apps, 32 goals

Humphrys: 38 apps, 11 goals

He can score, but the goal against Oxford was his first in over 50 league games and we don't have a 'proper' LB in the squad!

Actually feel a bit sorry for Done as he’s done ok at LB recently and if it is wingbacks he’s done that well in the past too.

Glad we’ve made a change at least.

Still in it after 60 minutes bringing on Done, Baah and Odoh against might nick us a point or even 3.

Are you excited James? finally looks like you're getting the 3 at the back you've been asking for.

I was told quite emphatically a back 3 wouldn't happen was a waste of time so had decided not to suggest it anymore. If the WM formation is played I will get a tad excited 😁

I hope its a 5 3 2 but I dont trust BBM not to have kept it at 4 4 2 with Mclaughlin on the right wing. We shall see.

Possession with progression.
