In a strange twist of events l found myself in conversation with a young lady who had attended Layer Road for a match against Hull City in our first season in The Championship. The 5-1 encounter.
We were attending a promo evening for a band called The Datsuns in North London in 2008.
During the evening she explained that she had been present at a party that made the national news due to the tragic death of someone by the name of Mark Blanco.
The incident occurred in December 2006.
This incident will be shown on Channel 4 on Monday night at 22.00 in an hour long documentary and several people known to me have made contributions.
It may be of interest to some.
I am very much hoping that the police will reinvestigate the death of Mark Blanco as a result of what will be included in the content.
I know that what l was told by this young lady 15 years ago has been instrumental in the making of this documentary.

Although we are currently working with the makers of Essex Millionaire Murders pre production / planning on a case from Suffolk in 2001 l have introduced another murder that also occured in Suffolk two years before.
This particular case will have an active audience as it will go on trial ( the second! ) later this year or the beginning of next.
I was approached by the production company to assist with the 2001 case and have done quite a bit of background on it - in the process of doing this l am now pitching a different case that will be in the national and international news and will be 'Hot to Go'. It might be more commercially viable to Channel 4 or ITV.
Tonight's second part of Essex Millionaires Murders will showcase exceptional work by Essex Police - the 1999 case l refer to will not reflect well on Suffolk Police and l wonder if it might run into a political wall as l am anticipating shockwaves running through the public domain post trial. |

This has moved on quite a bit today.
I have managed to find some key people who have background knowledge on the 1999 murder who lived nearby.
There will be quite an exchange of information between us tonight and in the coming days.
There is a murder trial scheduled for The Old Bailey in February 2026 which sounds a way off but is fast approaching.

We have assembled a team to work on a side project that has been triggered by research for a crime documentary.
I approached a big hitter with this and wasn't sure l would get a response ....but that response appeared in my inbox overnight and we will share information that might enlighten folk on how organisations in the UK hide behind an iron curtain.
A few of us, who were unconnected in 2006 should be able assemble a document / report of some kind.
The objective is to get this into the public domain.
The story is way more important than any of us having our form of branding stamped on it.

There is a television documentary in the production stage that should be screened end of '25 or beginning of '26.
It's core subject is the extent of money laundering in the UK through such outlets as barber shops, nail salons, candy stores, vape shops and a string of fake retail outlets.
We have seen some of the data and the scale is beyond belief.
It appears to us that the damage has been done and is beyond repair.
The programme features interviews with retail experts, HMRC representatives, landlords, NCA and a further selection of individuals with unique takes on 'The State of The Nation' ( not the programme title ).
From what we have learned it would appear that the problem is way beyond any political party and that even includes Reform UK.
In fact, the proposed documentary even goes as far to suggest that the amount of income the government collects from the money laundering activities of organised crime is vital in going somewhere towards reducing a year on year deficit. | | | |

Some great memories from what was virtually another world almost 50 years ago.
We are discussing how Kurt Cobain was playing the debut album and singing words from it that were written in 1976.
It's always a wonder how music travels the surface of the earth!
We are also speaking of the multi talented artist Reg Suffolk who was involved in the earliest Maiden posters and graphics.
I am eternally grateful to all the multi talented musicians and artists l have been fortunate enough to cross paths with over the years....and there is the possibility of a writing collaboration with one who ( like myself these days ) has the responsibility of looking after dogs ( and taking them on tour ).

I am in discussions to assist with a 60 or 90 minute television true crime documentary. That is effectively 45 or 67 minutes of actual screen time when the overloaded advertisement slots are taken into account.
I'm not sure how many people would have noticed how the advertising time slots have increased over the years and then there is the sponsored intro's that can eat further into the time of transmission.
When the commercials come on most people will be scrolling through their phones ( and possibly throughout the entire programme ). Some people will take a crap which will be quite easy as soon as the advertising trash hits the screen.

A football tale from 2007.
Former Colchester United striker ( before the term became popular ) Mr Bobby Hunt phoned me with some interesting news.
His Ex wife had discovered a suitcase in her loft on the South Coast of Merry Olde England. It was full of football programmes, newspaper cuttings and contracts from Bobby's extensive career.
She had sent it to Bobby's home in Colchester and he wanted me to be there when he went through it.
Bobby thought his Ex may have thrown it away and he hadn't set eyes on it in about 30 years.
It was an absolute treasure trove.
But something happened.
There was a double page spread of a team picture of Charlton Athletic in a South London newspaper.
We were sitting on the sofa as Bobby held it aloft going through all the players on there ( including himself of course ).
Suddenly there was a mighty hole ripped right through the entire team.
His dog had jumped through the newspaper just like something from a Billy Smart's Circus performance.
Other than that accident there were no further interruptions from his dog and we went through his career in words and pictures.
Bobby played for Colchester United, Northampton Town ( in League Division 1 ), Ipswich Town, Millwall, Charlton Athletic and Reading amongst others.
It was a fabulous career by a true professional footballer in a golden era.
Those days are long gone.
PS - for younger visitors, League Division 1 is now known as The Premiership.
PPS. Bobby was playing for Millwall during part of their unbeaten home run of FIFTY NINE matches at The Den! Without checking l think this is a British and European record though l stand to be corrected. It may even be a World Record.
PPPS. Millwall's record was beaten by Liverpool then ( 63 )....and later Chelsea?
My knowledge of the modern game is quite limited I'm afraid. Need Google to assist.

Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin.
Hadn't realised this was a reworking of a Jake Holmes release in 1967. I just assumed Jimmy Page had worked on it from the beginning with The Yardbirds.
Robert Plant rewrote the lyrics to Dazed and Confused for Zeppelin"s debut album - it is a stunning track!
Some big chunks of money have since changed hands in out of court payments.
In a similar mode Child in Time by Deep Purple is a reworking of a song by American band 'It's a Beautiful Day'. No out of court payments there - it was an arrangement between the bands while on tour.
While in Zeppelin land l have placed an assignment of work by Zacron ( designer of Led Zeppelin 3 album sleeve ) into a forthcoming music auction. The funds from the sale will go towards producing a new Art and Word publication with the title 'MONSTER'.
We are currently working on the prototype in Colchester with an international team including input from Bulgaria.

I used to work a five day week until 2003. I suddenly decided to retire. Change of lifestyle. Write a few books. Make a film or two. The odd documentary perhaps.
It's 20 years on now. I don't work a five day week anymore. It's seven days now. Some of the days may only require a three hour working portal but everything seems to tick over that way.
It took me a long while, virtually all of my life, to discover that you can short cut the route to film making by getting someone else to do it.
It's much easier writing a short synopsis and 'pitching' it to a production company or commissioning editor.
As a result of this mode l can concentrate on gathering information / content that might underpin a production and possibly enlighten viewers.
One such example is as follows.
Landline telephone wire tapping.
It's no secret that landlines are / were wire tapped by police forces throughout the UK. I must admit, that having my own device listened to over a long period in 2011 / 12 l wasn't quite sure who and how this was actioned.
I used to think the police may have been doing it....seems to me now they would just put in a request to BT to get them to fulfill the task....makes perfect sense but it was something l didn't really consider at the time. | | | |

The builders have left for the day.
They enjoyed the music and especially an album by Kosheen called 'Kokopelli'....in fact one of them liked this album so much he took a picture of the 2003 release and will possibly be tracking it down.
I only saw Kosheen on one occasion at a V Festival at Hylands Park around the time this album was released. They were very impressive!
I only just noticed a few minutes ago that track 07 is entitled 'Swamp'....it is just a coincidence that l quickly wrote something by the same name a few hours before playing it.
I was sitting on a stool in my front garden this morning awaiting the big white van and rattled it off....sometimes people might like a few words....or no words at all.
Either way it's worth putting down and if a single person can get anything from it then it is worthwhile.

An early morning meet up today with a friend who has just returned from a film assignment in Los Angeles.
It wasn't long before we were discussing AI.
AI is now used to 'Lip sinc' ( making dubbing virtually redundant ) and can be incorporated in multiple translations on ( for example ) a Netflix production that originates in Sweden and is released in multiple countries...
