They are quicker to ping it out to the wing but they are predictable. So far we'll done Sale. Let them pass it around and waste their time

You've been eating your carrots. Did I just hear someone say, after the ball was hoofed up from a goalkick and ended back with the opposition. 'Thats what we should be doing all the time'

Cue the inevitable 25 minutes of hanging on, causing our own downfall and the Gateshead winner in the last 10 minutes to lose a game we were comfortably 2-0 up in.

We haven’t been able to defend under any manager for the last few years. It’s just not taught properly in the modern game. We’re now really suffering with zero options from the bench due to injuries and a lack of options at the manager’s disposal. But that’s due to a multitude of reasons and various mistakes made by the club.

Not just the defence, the entire team has stopped pressing and are sleepwalking through the second half. Either they thought it was job done at 2-0 or they've run out of steam. Only one team going to win it at the moment.

Gateshead look the more likely winners now, but half our team look out on their feet. Is it that some are carrying injuries but we have no options on the bench or are we guilty of a general lack of fitness? Hayes had a brilliant first half but has faded latterly.

vs Gateshead - match thread on 21:52 - Oct 24 with 23789 views | 442Dale | Losing a two goal lead is going to be the main talking point I’m sure, but to hold out and get a point when we have so little options to change tired players is a positive. Also, as well as we played first half, Gateshead would probably have been disappointed to have gone in two down. Not sure why we aren’t using McDermott.

Bottom half now, but once the Hartlepool game is out of the way, the squad have a fortnight in which to regroup and hopefully come back refreshed
