NO, the amount of time he'll be fit to play means it's just not worth it. Better to out that towards Darlings offer!

Or better again, towards trying to get O'Brien back? Whadaya think?

O’Brien won’t happen mate. It’s already decided.

Joe has saved us in the last two matches. The through ball to Vipotnik last weekend earning a point and today potentially the tackle of the season earning two more.

I’m not saying yes but looking at the recent evidence ?

19 games played.

This is along the lines of what I am thinking, possibly including mentoring the u21 midfield. A job I would have liked Leon to do.

When leon hung up his boots it was a very sad day for me and i'd prob feel the same when joe does too, I just want these guys to go on forever.

100% yes. Or give him a hybrid player/coach contract where he gets his salary plus a pay as you play top up resulting in us not seen to be overpaying if still struggling with knocks next year.

Player/coach yes, to much experience to cast aside

It could make sense with the right contract. He may have only been involved in 19 games so far (maybe 22/23 by the end of the season so half of all games) but he always has a good effect on games. Not always crucial things like these last two games but he still sees things quicker than most and is able to impose himself even if it's just 'normal' midfield work.

The player/coach suggestion is a good one. I don't know if he's started any prep work to go into coaching yet.

For 4K a week definitely. He won't play week in week out but still has the quality to make major contribution - as showed by yesterday's tackle and the Leeds 96 minute assist

Some good positive posts on joey.

We definitely need to keep him at the club in some form.

4k a week will be money well spent, even if he only plays half a season his experience will be invaluable.

If he would like he can do his coaching badges whilst playing as much as possible and pass on his experience to the younger players.

It's a no brainer from me.

Modern day football requires athletes all through the team but especially in midfield. Allen can’t run now so his days are numbered. Need new young hungry fit players. He knows he’s finished too. That’s the reality sadly as he’s enjoyed a superb career and is one of life’s good guys. A top man.

If Allen was a new signing people would be falling over themselves to congratulate him after the last few games. He displayed plenty of pace for that tackle yesterday. Not sure if he has now completed his badges he was part way through them but that was some years back.

If Sheehan gets the gig then Allen stays I’m told.

How many minutes per game?

I agree with others on the coaching role though, he should get his badges and be employed as a player/coach. The experience he has, the things he learned from Leon, they should be passed on to the up and coming.

A contract purely as a player, NO. But player/coach 100% yes.

As I said, he needs full qualifications or be again working towards them. That’s crucial.

As for game time, have a look yourself 😂

There have been numerous moments he has earned points for the Swans this year alone, goal against WBA as an example to the last two games. His performance at Oxford was exceptional and at home v Norwich albeit for just over ten minutes. For me if Sheehan stays so does Joe, that’s not always going to be my choice, but I can see the point behind it.

JA was definitely in coaching mode yesterday. It was before he'd come on - maybe at the start of the second half? He was explaining something to someone (Fulton? Franco? - I did watch it, honest) on the sidelines. On the other hand my sources tell me he enjoys his golf too much to go into coaching.

£4k a week in £200,000 a year for a club losing £15m. He is a.multi millionaire. £2k is enough plus appearances.

After playing yesterday against Plymouth then definitely, he can still offer something on the pitch and behind the scenes,

Agreed, especially after last night’s display. The old adage the class is permanent applies here.
