It's a bit odd that neither Leeds, Sheff Utd or Burnley came in for him considering the goals he scored for us last season plus assists.

He's been dragged off in 2nd half of most games with WBA.
Last Saturday he had the lowest rating of players on pitch.
I am another who never rated him, he reminded me of a schoolboy footballer who gets the ball runs like stink in a straight line & nevers looks up.
I know he scored plenty for us last season & we are grateful of that.
Will he be with us next season only time will tell, I just like to think we can do better but strikers cost a lot & SR's track record of signing players is embarrassing. | | | |

Cameron Archer is worse and even less likely to score many goals for us next season. We're going to be stuck with him, as I can't see Sport Republic spending money on a new striker. I don't suppose we could get Rômulo from Göztepe. He's better than anyone we've got. [Post edited 9 Apr 16:12]

Yes, you have to wonder, has the standard of the Championship ever been lower than it is now? It's a league that's been stripped bare of all talent. Even the Turkish Super Lig is probably stronger than it for the first time ever.
I guess it's because football is such a big squad game now and so many substitutes are needed that any player who's half-decent gets hoovered up by top flight teams. [Post edited 9 Apr 19:14]

I don't think any striker will get many goals the way Saints play, get the ball down to the bye line then hoof it into a crowded box. No trying to pass the ball behind defenders for players to run on to play though the middle etc. | | | |

That's a good point.
Look at the number of good players signed by the big clubs that just can't get regular game time, the squads are so big most end up as bench warmers or worse.
Just one example is Dewesbury Hall signed by Chelsea from Leicester & he's cannot get game time at Chelsea.
You could make a dozen good teams out of big club bench warmers. | | | |
