Sheehan update : on 00:15 - Apr 13 with 1636 views | Whiterockin | If the club don't appoint Sheehan and prefer someone else and they don't get immediate success, what fragile support the owners have will dissappear. Mess this up and the current owners will be finished as far as supporters are concerned, not an idle threat but a fact.

Some pertinent points. - The owners appointed Sheehan and can clearly accept credit for his appointment. - They will also be absolved of all blame from fans if they stick with him - Sheehan successes to date this will be reflect in season ticket sales. - He will, if he is not greedy, be cheaper than his rivals for the post. - He may be able to get Darling to sign a new deal - He may be able to persuade O'Brien to sign, if at ll possible - His new coaching staff deserve credit and my again were unemployed and reasonable. A new selected team of manager and coaches would probably be more expensive higher risk and untested. Sheehan has been loyal to the club.

Sheehan update : on 01:27 - Apr 13 with 1522 views | RuDeMan1970 | I’m hearing our new manager is more or less done and dusted. Personally, I’ll be very disappointed if Sheehan doesn’t get it. AS knows this club, board, players and has got this team playing proper, purposeful (and still possession-based) football. And the players look happy and believe in what they are being told to do…and are enjoying it. Again, IMHO, the (new) US owners will be making yet another great big bloody mistake by not giving Sheehan the gig. If they’re unsure, offer him just a 1 year deal to begin with. 🦢🦢🦢

If the club do appoint Sheehan and it doesn't work out in the long term, many of the same people clamouring for his appointment now will be bashing the club for such a "cheap option" appointment and insisting that we should have gone for someone else. Who'd be an owner eh?

Absolutely. There's also the possibility of him being offered the job but deciding not to take it.

At this moment in time the difference being he, with this group of players would be proven ,another choice not so .Also it depends on what's classed as long term , very few Managers especially in our case stay for very long either because they're good or crap.

Most managers get the sack and i'm certain that sheehan knows that. If he has the ultimate desire to be a no1 this is the best opportunity he will have. I have got a sneaking feeling that he loves being a coach and more importantly his family is settled. The next few days are going to be interesting.

Surely if he is offered the job his wage would rise, to his and his families benefit. As his first foray into management can't think of a better place to start given the turn around he has overseen, we have seen others progress there careers from here, some have learnt from their experiences here some not so much. Surely he would be given time to hone his managerial skill if not here at the first attempt as a full time manager then elsewhere.

Do you think he is a little peeved with the club openly talking about still looking for the right candidate.

Would we as fans expect there to be a plan B if Sheehan did not take the job? I hope he now gets offered the job, in all the games we have looked competitive under him and would like to see him offered the job 3 year contract? Would he take it without assurances on the quality of players that he would expect to come in? If he turns an offer down how would the club look in other managers eyes given the turmoil we have seen for quite some time at the club. I thunk the best way forward would be to offer him the job first thing after the end of the season.

If offered the job I think he will take it. I just have this nagging feeling we have offered the job elsewhere and have given them until the end of the season to decide.

If the good run of form continues then I would offer it to Sheehan and if he accepts then the offer to any other manager could be withdraw, sorry we have our man I'm afraid ?

Why wait until the end of the season? We've all heard talk about budget cuts that need to be made. Well, one way to save money is by signing Sheehan now instead of after the season is over. Every game that Swans win with him at the helm only increases his value, and therefore, more cost to the club. Sign him now; get it done now before it becomes more expensive! Sheehan has the players' respect, they enjoy playing for him, he's shown that he does his homework before games, that he can employ multiple game strategies. That's a lot more than the last 3 Swans managers had going for them!
