Millwall v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED on 16:58 - Apr 26 by Whiterockin | Montague has a lot of work to do in the summer. |
His job now is to get the deals over the line not scout and find players 👍

As I say he has a lot of work to do. A top 10 finish should help him.

There’s a lot of work to be done up front. Vipotnik Cullen Yates Kukharevych Would anyone really have any confidence in any of them leading the line next season? Sheehan really needs to get a tune out of at least one of them over need to move a couple on.

But which one do you think a good manager could at this level?

Honestly, as the central striker, none of them unless they show a lot more than they have so far. There’s certainly a place for Cullen, but it’s not leading the line. Yates, again could be effective playing alongside a physical striker. Similar players up front, but Cullen can also play deeper. If we had those two and the player Vipotnik or Kukharevych are supposed to be, I’d be happy.

Cullen and Yates are not number 9s. Vipotnik and Kukharevych are physically 9s but are not mobile enough or good enough finishers. To play the way we do we need a hybrid of what we have. Someone a little taller than Yates and Cullen who is mobile and can head a ball. Someone like Mcburnie is what we need, but they are not easy to find. I would keep Cullen as a utility forward and represents reasonable value for money and try and try and move the other three on.

Someone like Salech maybe? Will Cardiff be able to afford him now? Will he want to stay? Probably wouldn’t want to come here but…
