In amongst all the dross yesterday I thought Emerson Sutton came on and did well. I know people will say that the bar was low but he came on when we were struggling badly and did well on the right, getting a few crosses in and then nearly getting into a one-on-one with their keeper. Will be interesting to see if he bulks up and adds the horsepower that he will need to make if at this level.

Understandably he's looked a little lost but hopefully he will develop. If we sign Saito then you'd imagine they'll try and loan out Sutton next year to toughen him up a bit.

He is very very fast.

Yes, he will need loans and bulking up, but am sure having a run out in a match, in front of our fans, will be a positive experience for him, going forwards.

We have some very quick midfielders in the side now (hopefully we sign Saito next season), just need to add some bulk into it.

I also thought Varane had a decent game. Kept trying to win the ball of them and passing forward when he could.

Yeah Varane was OK. I thought Colback was OK as well. Without him we would have absolutely crumbled.

Always interesting to look at the body language in the lap of appreciation after the last game. Varane cares. He was apologising to the fans in person.

Out of interest, after a five-nil drubbing at home, what do you consider to be an 'absolute crumbling'?

I ask, as we might need a few markers in the sand for next season.

Well, I was worried that the 7-0 in the 80's that Clive highlighted in the history piece was about to be repaid with interest. If it hadn't been for those two, JC & JV, chasing, harrying, tackling and trying to move us up the pitch, it might have been.

I agree with you Francis Bowles. I have been critical of Colback this season but I have been impressed with his application in recent weeks (not sure how much that has to do with his contract coming to an end). Had it not been for him, Varane and 3 of the back four we would have been absolutely annihialated on Saturday. I dread to think where we will be next season with the manager gone and if we have the likes of impostors such as Madsen, Ashby and Celar in our midst.

I looked up the betting market for 10-0 at half time....
