Joe Allen & Kyle Naughton 11:09 - May 2 with 2954 views | KeithHaynes | Allen it seems has decided to call it a day, which is a shame. He had a decent offer on the table. However, he knows what his plans are and after so many years playing football he knows what his body can take. Kyle Naughton will be leaving the club is the latest on him.

Joe Allen & Kyle Naughton on 13:22 - May 2 with 2030 views | Boundy | Naughton one of my favourite players of our PL days , never any bother , no histrionics just gave 100% every time he put o the shirt. Joey well what can you say another total professional who never let him or his team mates down at all levels . I hope they go onto enjoy a well earned retirement .

Joe Allen & Kyle Naughton on 13:39 - May 2 with 1948 views | Kilkennyjack | Joey Allen is probably the greatest player produced by our Academy in recent times. Clearly a nod is deserved by super Ben. A modern style player and peaked for Wales in the Euro 2016 heroics. Thank you for all the great times Joe. Kyle has been a great professional since he signed. A top player in his own right. Loyal and a credit to himself. Both going to be missed by the Jack Army, diolch bois !

They are the polar opposites of Obafemi and Whittaker, they had the talent but also grreat attitudes, they are what young players should aspire to be and if they did their badges and stayed as coaches I wouldn't be complaining, looks like that's not happening though. They both deserve a great send off, it'll be a bittersweet day tomorrow, Sheehan getting what his work deserves but goodbye to two great Swansea players. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Endured more than his fair share of scapegoating during our last few seasons in the Prem, but always someone I rated. Glad to see the appreciation for him now. Rarely less than a 7/10 performance whenever he pulled on the shirt. Nothing flashy, rarely big heroics, just a dependable presence game after game.

Latterly, I was always a bit nervous when he was included in the team but invariably I had absolutely nothing to worry about. Enjoy your retirement.

Keeping on veterans too long is not beneficial but better than wasting cash on poor performing unfit players like Pederson for example. Far better to bring in raw energetic players with upside potential.

That was why he was always such a good defender even when his pace started dropping off a bit. The first couple of yards were always in his head. One of the best "readers" of the game I've ever seen in the shirt.

Basically the insurance just doesn’t work for certain players at elite football level.

The first couple of yards were in his head describes the best defenders. They can see what is likely to happen before it does. Chelsea at their peak had John Terry who I think your comment best describes, no real pace but always in the right place and Ashley Cole who was one of the best left backs I've seen. Naughton wasn't that their level but he has that same understanding of the game.
Joe Allen & Kyle Naughton on 07:39 - May 3 with 961 views | GixerJack | I remember talking to a Spurs supporter when we signed him and his opinion was that Naughts would never be world class but he’ll be consistently good. Turned out to be a pretty good appraisal to be fair, with him in the squad it was another position that we didn’t need to be concerned about for a lot of years. Added to that, his experience and influence would have helped develop the younger members of the roster

morning every one, think a lot wont like what im saying but Mr Coalman also leaves today and whilst not a fan of his he put his money in and whilst totally out of his depth in the u k soccer world tried to move the club in the right way but was held back by we all know who, and to be fair he has put together the new consotium that looks ( saying looks as early days) to be moving in the correct direction since they have come in, so as i say not all or even one may agree but i for one wish him and his family well in the future It goes without saying watchin the young Joe Allen burst onto the scene and a top Kyle Noughton join us and be both top players during theirn time at Swansea wishing them well also in what ever the future holds for both, the memories of both playingwill be with us evermore best of luck lads

How can you now say that? What you’ve called Kyle Naughton over the years has been disgraceful, if you knew anything about the game you’d realise what a very good footballer he has been for us. At least you now haven’t got him to pour your poison on.

It's kind of ironic that Ben Davies seems to be filling a similar role for Spurs these days as Naughton does/did for us. Mr. Consistency. Rarely puts a foot wrong. Available week in, week out to fill a couple of key roles if needed. Held in high regard by most but with a few critics in the fanbase.

Targets now then Jesus Key for most of the season had been dire , a walking mistake but one who rightly got goal of the season EOM is the weakest player we've had in years and his finishing is generally woeful You like them ? That's fine by me Bach Key might well be replaced by a more solid defender and EOM might go Ya never know Who will you bleed for then Enjoy the day and the summer but leave those fish where they are
