It would be a terrible piece of business and an absolute disaster for the football club. Would also show how dire our current situation is. I'm starting to get concerned.

Hopefully it’s just a nasty rumour, but anything seems possible at the moment.

I don’t care what anyone offers, you can’t sell all your best players every year, it’s not sustainable.

If you're best player is under 23 then I kind of get it but not when they're 30.

Someone said yesterday that a lot of the younger players, like Thorn, Tovide etc, are on relatively low salaries so when they go we may get a fee for them but to replace them will more than likely cost more on a monthly basis in wages.

There was a time when the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle came calling for our best players. In that situation, when you’re getting big bucks, it’s a no brainer. The money can make a big difference.

Its not so much that we are selling some players that bothers me, its that the whole team seem to be available if an offer comes in. All that uncertainty, you’re giving the rest of the league a 10 match head start before you have a settled team. The transfer window closing a month into the season is a nightmare for clubs in our position, where the vultures are circling.

DC/NC worked incredibly hard to turn it around last year. They can’t work miracles over and over again, it must be demoralising. I just hope they know stuff we don’t and that better times are on the way.

Araujo looks an interesting signing, as we need more cover at the back. The article mentions an injury last season, so hope we haven't signed another player who's crocked.

He went back to Fulham with an unspecified 'knee injury' at Christmas, but was fit enough to return to Chesterfield and play in a couple of the last games of their season. Seems like a decent vote of confidence from Chesterfield in Harvey to take him back in the first place, and play him. Looks like whatever the injury was, he's over it now.

My Spireite mate reports "I never saw him play and I think he went back to Fulham injured (as was most of our team last season). There were some positive noises about him when he did play, but we were very inconsistent so nothing is too clear. Hopefully he will get a good run with you and show his promise".
