Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I used to say they should have taken over Frankie and Benny's and made that the supporters bar. I still think they should have.

Still a great idea though. If I’m in the city I’d certainly use it. 👍😎

Ditto mate when I suggested the same some on here some dissed it saying no call for it. I must admit putting it the @rse end of Swansea makes no sense at all

I kind of see why they haven’t opted to go somewhere near the ground; it would risk harming some of the supporters pubs in the area, or even losing trade to them. Also, for business outside of match days, the city centre is perhaps a better option than the Landore area.

I’m a bit excited by it and I will definitely give it a go when it opens. My concern for it, with the club and this Football Taverns company owning and running it, is that it may be a bit “polished” and not what makes traditional supporters’ bars good; a couple of the club’s logos on the walls, £6-7 for a pint of Madri, Harvester style food menu and prices and I could see it not doing well.

It’ll have to offer something unique to the supporters to do well / survive, as I don’t see run of the mill drinkers / party goers on Wind Street going in there vs more generic bars that do drink offers and have dance floors. Also, I’ve lost count of the number of bars / restaurants that have opened and closed on Little Wind Street / Salubrious Place over recent years; are they too out of the way and or the rent too much to survive?

It’ll have to appeal to supporters to visit there everyday.
I assume the club has access to decades of its own archive video content, which it could show on screens throughout the day everyday, possibly old memorabilia it could put on display etc.; I think those things would make it successful.

Last sentence of your first paragraph is why a supporters bar in the city centre makes more sense than one near the stadium.

Little Wind street is hardly the @rse end of Swansea, with the Premier inn opposite and Morgans across the road I'm sure people staying down will find it a novelty value.

A lot of people prefer a drink in wind street before a game and afterwards and with sky plus now it will do a roaring trade with Swans fans whe we are away

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

For a nominal fee they could run courtesy buses to and from the stadium on match days

The @rse end of Wind Street is the @rse end of Swansea last time I looked. But I'm sure it will be a success personally I would have liked to have seen it closer to maybe the train station with more passing trade especially on match days as the bottom of Wind street is hardly a pre match drinking place

Is there a train from there to the ground 😂

This was Tom Coleman’s snatch of the day in WOL.

Good idea, I’ve seen this operated by other supporters’ bars, albeit unofficial ones (i.e. The Brazen Head pub for Celtic fans).

I don't think it's going to be aimed at just matchdays, it's perfectly placed with the arena around the corner, and the old Labour club is now a sports bar, I'm sure a Swans pub would be more popular.

Oh and Sa1 is behind Wind street 😉

Not in the least, I'm just pointing out it's a good location for trade, arena restaurants and with Sky + showing 24 Swans games a season it could be a winner.

As I said I don't think it's aimed at just matchdays, it's nice to see some forward thinking from the club

Luca Modric has recently invested in a new brewing company hasn’t he?
Maybe they might get some of his beers in?

I wonder what the percentage investment/ownership is between Football Taverns Ltd and the club.

I think it's a great idea to put it in Wind Street.

I went down there after the Oxford game and it was bouncing. With Swans memrobilia videos, maybe the odd ex player will be in there signing shirts etc.

The club are showing ambition and that generates optimism and revenue.

Another thing I think the club could do is invest in a hotel . A lot of money is spent by tourists , visitors and supporters on hotel stays and additional breakfasts /meals/ drinks . We could have tapped into Mel Nurse's experience in this , he became a millionaire from it after all.

we have a director and shareholder with experience on this field too....also his hotel offers packages.

Yeah, imagine a hotel in Swansea that offers discounts to matchday ticket holders (or rooms are booked in conjunction with buying the tickets) that also offers a free bus to the stadium and back into Swansea....I wonder if that would work?

I doubt if the Swans would build a 300 room hotel though, Maybe they should just buy the one on the seafront, I read that it has very low standards, not rated good at all recently, buy it, do it up, free buses to the stadium...if only I was a billionaire.

This is great news. Generating other sources of revenue for the club - exactly what's needed with the P&S restrictions.

Well done all involved.
