The crowd really were excellent. The complaints at Arsenal because they might only get 2nd. I hardly heard the city fans. The Leicester fans protesting last week, when they have recently won leagues and the FA Cup. I have been amazed at how we have let the club and the players get away with what they have this season, but be under no doubt our fans with the suffering we have endured, are the best around.

Wellington and Bree look ready to go for next season. I thought they were excellent. We were defensively better without Walker-Peters. Ramsdale was superb, but I assume he will go. And again, I will mention Jack Stephens. He cleared a great opportunity off the line and led the defence brilliantly. Again, I think he will do a job for us next season.

Poll: Who do we want as the new permanent Saints manager?

It’s amazing how people can see a game differently. Listen to Adam and Jo on the way home and they had praise for Sulemana. Now Nick fat be it from me to dismiss your knowledge of the game, but I will take Jo tessems analysis over yours every time.

Actually you your self said something similar about the fan base and Ross Stewart a couple weeks ago

Poll: Has the Ross Stewart deal already paid off as Nick says?

I thought the fans were good, helped by the fact we could see the players were really putting a shift in.

The players were rightly pleased with themselves at the end of the game , they had kept Multi million pound man City at bay and like you said to be honest they very rarely looked like scoring and for once we didn’t let a last min goal in. ( something that was lost on one of the talk sport presenters who said they were embarrassed the way we celebrated) .

That Man City fan may have thought we had nothing to play for, but we did and no one will ever remember who got the 2nd lowest points tally in top flight history.

Thought both Bree and Wellington who both played really well, and most of the time we were able to double up on who ever was taking them on with Fernandes helping Wellington and Dibling and even Sulemana helping Bree

So what do others think, does anyone else think Sulemana had a good game, certainly the player ratings votes have sulemana as far far worse than anyone else.

I have not played in a Premier League football side like Jo Tessem and he is shrewd reader of the game, but that doesn't mean he is always right.

I have not acted in a Hollywood blockbuster film either, but I know a poor film when I see it

I thought Sulemana actually tried a bit and it wasn’t his worst game for us , and let’s face it he’s had plenty of them .

I thought Sulemana played ok, nothing special but i thought he tried helping out and if anything Dibling was worse.

The point is , all our attackers are pretty poor .

I thought if anyone should of been singled out, it was Ugochukwu as he was poor. Constantly giving petty fouls away, 2 of the free kicks were right on the edge of the penalty area and needless. Then after being booked he stupidly blocked a free kick being taken before half time and should of been sent off. Then got hooked at halftime so as not to be sent off.

If anyone should be singled out, it should be Kevin De Bruyne for his diving and the ref for buying his dives - trying their best to give their £400k a week under-performer a chance of scoring from a free-kick.

It was blatant cheating. You could see the frustration on Big Les' face (together with all the other players and Saints Fans) when the ref eagerly blowed for the KDB dives and even at one stage waited til a City player asked for the foul before duly blowing !!

The ref gave us virtually nothing all game. We are already down, so it doesn't matter, kind of attitude. Even when Haaland was shoving Bednarek right in front of ref, he only had a word with him, then failed to spot (or chose to ignore) Haaland taking Bednarek out from the resulting free kick as he ran towards the box. Direct Free kick just outside the box and yellow card all day long, but as it was off the ball and media darling Haaland, he chose to not do anything about it.

That City sub who became the ball boy, whilst he was warming up was amusing, down by the Itchen - Chapel Corner. Running onto the pitch to get the ball, so that any free kicks, throw ins, goal kicks and corners could be taken more quickly. Surely he is not allowed to do this ? Encroachment etc. No late goal this time, so we had the last laugh :-)

Honestly, Sulemana was poor.

Half the time he didn't see to know whether he was playing down the middle or on the left wing. He was obviously up against a top notch back line, so nobody really expected too much from him, but his inability to make runs when we were looking for an outlet or ball over the top was obvious and when he had the ball, he usually ran into danger with a bad touch or poor decision.

With City pushing us back and bossing the possession, we were hopeful of Sule hitting them on the break like he did so well at Old Trafford.

Unfortunately he lacked support, or options from our midfield runners when he had the ball and all too often he would give it away, but most frustratingly would then just stop - not bothering to chase the ball as City played it round their back line, or track back when they played it forward. I am surprised he stayed on for as long as he did, but then again, he is the fastest we have.

Bar a few occasions when he actually looked interested, Dibling's performance was very similar, but a lot more defensively orientated.

'he usually ran into danger with a bad touch or poor decision.'

A very bad decision when he didn't cross the ball to Stewart who was standing in front of an open goal!!!

Wasn't that Archer (who was offside anyway)?

Sometimes you have to take one for the team & that's what Sulemana did on Saturday. He was there for his pace and to keep them honest at the back. I'm not saying he was outstanding but he did what he was asked to do.
There was little prospect of him beating either CB in the air but just a chance his pace could upset them a bit, it was hardly his fault that we couldn't put balls into space for him to run onto. CF is not his natural position, which clearly showed but you cannot fault his effort, particularly dropping in to help out Bree! The way we set up whoever started up front on their own was on a hiding to nothing and when Stewart arrived there was more space due to them getting desperate. So taking all things into consideration he wasn't the best player on the pitch but I'm not sure he deserves the distain!
