I think I would prefer Sunderland to go to Wembley and make it a battle of the red & white stripes

Sunderland but only to keep Coventry down so that as Super Frankie Lampard will be our new manager and playing against the Sky Blues he will be really up for it

Oh, hang on a minute, I've just woken up from that dream now ..............

Sunderland's home kit they are wearing tonight is just what Saints should wear at home, stripes on the back and front

I was having this discussion. I was led to believe the excuse was always ‘full stripes are not allowed’, yet Sunderland are an exception to this. The rule is shirt numbers must be clearly visible.

UEFA are against stripes and have heavy influence on the Premier League. We, still in the mind of being a consistent top division club, are probably still adhering to this.

I have seen clubs with stripes on their back play in the Premier League so it is allowed

But would he be able to get us promotion, he's just failed with Coventry
Unfortunately I think he'll stay there and really go for it next season with proper backing if required.
But saying that, do they have the finances?

No they don’t , they sell all their best players ( sounds familiar ) and never spend more than around 10 million on a player whereas we have spent 20 odd million on a single player on a few occasions . we can’t compete with massive clubs like Bournemouth though who can spend 40 million on a single player.

No thanks. Robins built that team and would of go them to the play offs.

I would take Mark Robins

He wasn't doing great at Cov when they got rid of him.

And it is taking him time to turn things round at Stoke.

I think he is very much one who people would need to be patient with, as it might take him 3 or 4 years to get a team to where you would want them.

Talking of stripes, we've been in the deckchairs of failure for a season now so we should be back to a proper red and white kit again for the new campaign!
