Portugal won ,good game overall ,Spain controlled most of the game but Portugal kept plugging away and even going 2-1 down I always felt they'd get an equaliser and they did with Ronaldo.

Nations League Final tonight on 07:50 - Jun 9 with 516 views | swancity | An outstanding game of football of the highest quality. And the perfect illustration of how the game should be played. Defenders comfortable and patient in possession and happy to play it out from the back. And then get forward quickly themselves. Forwards with pace trickery and bravery. Both sides trying to dominate the ball in possession terms which Spain one whilst putting pressure on the ball and quickly when out of possession. A Martinez masterclass as Portugal did mix it up a bit although Spain were unlucky as they created more goal attempts (16v9).

Excellent game full of skill and controlled energy. Extra time and penalties with no players looking "tired after a long season" nonsense. A good manager will plan a game to suit the players level and condition, not make excuses.

I thought Portugal deserved to win, i thought that Spain got most of the 50-50s, Spain first goal in old money was offside but they were lucky that one of those 'offside' players was deemed to not be interfering with play, Spain second goal on another day could have been ruled out for a possible foul on Bernado Silva. Dias might have won a penalty when he went down in the box from a corner I think it was. Spain had most of the ball but Portugal to me looked more like scoring. [Post edited 9 Jun 10:42]
