Not everyones cup of tea as a referee, but sad to hear that he has died.
"The Premier League's first black referee Uriah Rennie has passed away just months after learning to walk again after rare condition left him paralysed from the waist down."
Satisfying The Bloodlust Of The Masses In Peacetime
That's sad news. I remember him well. I always thought he was a decent ref.
I agree. Can't have been easy being the first black ref, especially in a role where potentially thousands of people are going to hate you for the slightest error. I always thought he was good. Sad.
Big bit on Tsport this morning about him and it seems he was also a decent guy off the pitch, but also had the respect on it. Def a trailblazer but still not that many black refs at the top end of the game Sad news at only 65 as well
