All gone quiet on Rusk, it seems.

Poll: Would you be happy with Rishi Sunak as a new Saints owner?

They are compiling the coaching staff, I think Rusk might step back down to the U21 side, if he was going to go I think he would have gone by now

I also note that Etherington seems to be getting quite a bit of coverage at the moment in the Echo.

So perhaps the Club are setting up Rusk's departure...

It doesn't seem a good idea to retain any of the failed coaching staff from last year, including Lallana. He should be released. If we really need an ex-player as a coach, Fonte would be a far better prospect.

Some good points there, hard to disagree.

Just sacking the entire coaching staff because Russell Martin cocked things up, doesn't make sense, there will be some good people there we will want to keep and others perhaps not,

The club are assessing it all at the moment.

Regarding your comment about how having an ex player as a coach, why would fonte be a better prospect than Lallana ?

Lallana has been involved in English football for all his career, he has coached and been caretaker coach at both Brighton & Saints, he has taken most of his coaching badges.

Whereas Fonte has not been involved in English football since 2018, 7 years out of the country and in another post you mentioned how the difference between Premier League & Championship is widening and is much changed from even 4 years ago let alone 7.

He has not been involved with coaching at all preferring to keep playing, which is fine, but doesn't give us any reasons why he will be a good coach

To be fair perhaps getting him back to coach the u16 side or an assistant to the U18's is perhaps the entry level for him and even then there are far more qualified candidates.

Is there not a potential conflict of interest here, with his lad being in the Academy?

I agree with Nick on this one.
I think Lallana is much better qualified than Jose Fonte to take up a coaching role at St Mary's.
AL has played at the top level under quality coaches & he's been involved in temporary coaching this season with us.
Albeit that JF was a great player for us there is nothing to recommend him as a coach.
JF needs to gain some experience coaching before he can be considered ready.

Well let's hope he doesn't get too good at it, or he'll off to Liverpool or another big club.

Its the situation with Lallana and Cortese that's the main issue and how he appeared on the frontpage of the sun newspaper in 2013.

"He typifies the term 'Judas' " a quote from a former senior employee at SFC.
