I attended, Darling was mentioned, the question wasn't directly at the Darling situation. It was more on the contracts of players not being allowed to expire/run down and they will not allow this to happen moving forward. The question was regarding Josh Key and Josh Tymon being extended based on the current Darling calamity. | | | |

Someone has mentioned that the Swans need to sell before they can buy. That’s really not accurate at all. Not only with what the club have signed so far, Widell, Inoussa, Santos and Wales but they are in for more. Thing is yes, every club wants to move on players like Yates and Mykola,even Fulton to an extent, that’s obviously good business.
But Profit and Sustainability isn’t a threat, it’s there any they are aware, but it’s not affecting transfers this and next month. | |

Also chatter that we are prepared to put a deal in place for the right player that would see a fee higher than what we paid for Inoussa.

I can't believe that anyone thinks that Darling might sign a contract with us. That has been obvious for a while.
I know that the previous hierarchy have not inspired confidence, but the current one has shown that they are different. They have known that he wasn't signing for a while and have obviously been working in the background to bring in players.
They are actively looking to prevent a repeat of the situation with other players. | | | |

Swansea have had trouble coming to an understanding with Darling and so has everyone else it seems.
I suspect like Grimes he was hoping for silly money and it has not appeared. Relegated teams or Rangers perhaps. Anything can happen.

He already may have an agreement in principle elsewhere...Rangers,Stoke,Norwich....which could be anmounced on July 1st.....Santos isnt one of ours until Then.....he s gone he is not coming back....if he does its.only because he cant get a deal....this is vecoming like the Willams West Brom affair | |

I am not sure of the rules but Santos has been interviewed holding up the shirt which is usually a sign of a done deal. Dan James did it at Leeds but never publicised after it fell through.
Daring presumably could have agreed something by now and be holding up a different colour shirt with a contract starring on 1 July. I assumed Grimes was gone to Fulham. They were Premier League and have a much bigger budget than Swansea but he rejected what they offered him and signed a new deal at Swansea.
Grimes was under contract though. SCFC would have taken £3m maybe . No problem for FFC. He was not offered the wages he wanted. No one has so far matched Darlings demands. All issues are now cleared apart from waiting for new manager approvals. e g Sheff Utd, Liecester, Southamption perhaps. | |
