Sir Gareth Southgate 00:03 - Jun 26 with 606 views | Kilkennyjack | Follows on from Wally Winterbottom, Alf Ramsey and Blobby Robson. None of them really deserve such recognition. Ramsey sacked in 1974 for failing to qualify. Southgate - maybe services to waistcoat industry ? And Wally was before my time. So Bobby Robson is most deserving for the Italia 90 team. And importantly the games werr good to watch.

I don't quite get it. I would imagine being a staunch republican he would reject the offer himself so why comment on others getting it unless it bugs him that much. He wouldn't care who in France would have ordre national du mérite. Just seems very resentful towards the British, an irrational dislike, a phobia if you will.

Listen i cant remember 1966, very few can. But i have certainly enjoyed the 60 years since when they have won feck all. And the new manager has already become the first English manager ever to lose to an African nation. Outstanding 🏴☕️

There we are it wasn't that difficult, I can certainly remember it, and Wembley was full of Union Jacks and the streets of Swansea were deserted

I can remember 1966 very well. It changed football in Wales beyond recognition. Many schools including mine were rugby only and organised football was not allowed. After England won the World Cup things changed, football was played in the school yard and after pressure school football teams were allowed. To say the England victory meant nothing and didn't benifit Wales is just plain ignorance and stupidity. [Post edited 26 Jun 16:22]

No not at all if Wales play England obviously I would want Wales to win, but I'm also British and would support a home nation against foreign opposition everytime I'd even go as far to say I'd prefer Ireland over other continental opposition due to the number of players who play over here

Just because you couldn't remember it, it doesn't mean it's not a fact. Credit has to be given to Ramsey and his team.

| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Well …… its partly because he is decent man, partly because it draws the working class interest to the honours system, and partly cos his record is better than the previous managers. If he had actually won anything then God only knows what they would do …. 🤣 Starmer was lining up an additional Bank Holiday if England had won something, so thats nice. Wales cant have rescheduled Bank Holiday for St David’s day, even though both Scotland and the north of Ireland already have Bank Holidays for their Saints. Mmmm ….. If you did not know better, you might think there were double standards at play ….🇬🇧
