Just looking into the QPR board of directors. 05:39 - Jul 6 with 2288 viewslordflashhart

Has anyone heard of what's going on with Richard Reilly. It's stated he is CEO of RBI Solar. I can't find any company info on the web regarding this company. He was supposed to be part of RBI Investments, and also nothing. Something appears a little off. I can't find any real business footprint for his career. Jus seems a little odd. Maybe i'm not looking in the right place. Just wanted some opinions.

You mean this RBI Solar:

https://g.co/kgs/D2A7sZS

That was sold in 2015 to Gibraltar Industries and has been around since 1932:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rough_Brothers,_Inc

He has been the president of that company since 2002, taking over from his father, Al.

He seems to be doing ok for himself.

I saw the Wikipedia entry, but I was looking for an actual online presence with a bio, etc. Not even a LinkedIn entry. Just seems a little odd.

I didn't realize that Ruben Gnanalingam has been part of the ownership board of LAFC since 2019. If I had to guess I would say this is where the relationship comes from as Richard Reilly is involved with FC Cincinnati

Genuinely I think you reach a point where you don't need that kind of networking. My husband's boss for example is on the Board of a massive company. My son, who's job hunting, sent her a link request. My husband asked one day if she wouldn't mind accepting it. Turned out when she checked she had 70,000 requests she'd missed. It would be a full time job to manage it and frankly they don't need it any more!

That should be RFI Investments (not 'RBI Investments')

There's a profile of Reilly here:

Trying to get info on American companies is a bit of a nightmare as each state has its own registry. Knock yourself out:

I understand that in some ways but if he's assisting in the process of attracting new investment (which I thought was part of his appeal), then you think he'd have a better network. If you look at someone like Tom Wagner, who's worth way more then you'll have a completely different viewpoint. He is front and center on all investment and fundraising front. Not trying to criticize. Just appears we have a board member who's so hands off. Board members are supposed to be pro-active.

Worth pointing out that Amit and Richard Reilly have greatly reduced their share in the club over the last year.

Ruben now owns over 75% of the club which means he effectively has complete control.

Reilly's main sporting interest is the Cincinnati Reds baseball club. I had a good look when he came on board and, like others, it was difficult to find out much about him. Though I did find three places of residence and some business interests, he does appear to be a man who enjoys his privacy.

Poll: Thank God The Seaons Over.

Without wanting to be pedantic about the wording, it's likely to be less of a matter of Amit and Reilly reducing their share (they still own the same number of shares) but more about new shares being issued and funded by Ruben to offset the money he puts in every month to keep the club running.

Their shareholding has been diluted rather than reduced.

Fair point.

Diluted would be a better word for it.

I'm not sure about the mechanics behind this but I would assume any new shares that might be issued would be offered to existing shareholders and they could choose to maintain their percentage of shares if they wanted to.

IIRC any QPR shareholder owning 10% of QPR shares is entitled to be represented at board meetings and the board meeting will not have a quorum if that shareholder or his representative is not present.

So it's probably not coincidence that Reilly has not allowed his shareholding to drop below 10% because he still gets to know what is discussed at board meetings.

Interesting first post.

There would be uproar on here if there was a first post praising the Board.

Just wondering as there has been a big charge in finding investment from State side and I thought this gent was part of that process. There seems to be alot of investment coming into the championship. Just an observation.

What a fantastic story, thanks for sharing it .

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
