There was a centre-forward a few years back didn’t score on his first six or seven league games. More than one Loftus Road regular I spoke to began grumbling about him, “Not sure about this new fella” etc. Charlie Austin. This is more a comment on some QPR fans, I’m no way saying anyone in the current Rs squad comes close to Austin. But I still think an injury-free Celar will come good. And Kelman I’m excited to see what happens. I might be wrong but that’s how I feel about those two. Would t say no to someone new and decent coming in though.

Yeah. I’m avoiding this board after the Brentford game.

Thankfully, I will be in Poland and not in Brentford, where I live. Lots of the local fans know I'm QPR and it will be unbearable if they hammer us.

I would far more understand the annual lament for a striker if we didn’t have Kelman. If we had just signed the top scorer from League One we would be delighted. Am also excited by Koli, fitness notwithstanding.

For me midfield far more problematic. Varane and Field can’t “progress the football” which means we must play with a third midfielder (Madsen - anonymous bar the occasional
admittedly impressive assist; Morgan - does everything OK but nothing brilliantly as yet; Vale - potentially the solution but a complete unknown, both in effectiveness and ability to last a Championship season.

I think our striking/ number 10 options are probably par for this league, perhaps even a notch better.

But our midfield is where all our problems start. A dynamic “box to box” midfielder would transform this side.

Bit sad really but I used to make a point of watching Charlie's movement In and around the box, he was good at that and as a striker you need that In your armoury.

Re Paul Furlong he was very very clever In the oppositions box, one evening game the ball was bobbing around In the box and Furlong was tangled up on the floor with a defender but Furlong was slyly holding the defender down, as clear as day you could see Furlong look to see If the referee was looking, (he wasn't) Furlong jumped up In a flash the ball came over and Furs scored the goal.

They don't make strikers like that anymore, or If they do they ain't playing at Rangers sadly.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

I think the worrying thing about Celar is that will he just repeat what was a disappointing to say the least start again to the new season as was the case last season. Two goals at Cardiff apart he did not look the business, whereas with Frey he looks a handful and scored important goals. With Kelman just don't know if he can step up as in his previous limited starts in last 3 years never really looked like scoring. Maybe with him all about confidence get a goal or two and it could all turn around.
It does not look great a 6-0 drubbing in a pre-season game but looking at the sides that were put out, can't read too much into basically a training game, if anything the new management team are trying things out and seeing who is up for being in contention to make the squad. Must admit I don't have much hope with Taylor Richards his track record just leaves a lot too be desired, although can see if they can get some sort of tune out of him, maybe get a club to take him on loan for another season.

Cheer up FFS, this place is like a bastard morgue.

Its laughable sometimes the range of emotions after an ass kicking but ask any Pro and they will tell you its 1 game and only 3 points just put in behind you ASAP.
Its even worse in this case being pre season and the new coaching staff second game in charge plus behind closed doors it literally means nothing score wise .
However there is still 3 glaring issues facing QPR which need fixing as soon as possible .
Getting ripped apart on the outside every match , not scoring close to enough goals and the backlog of injuries is the real enemy and going forward JS has his hands full
