Shin pads 09:37 - Jul 15 with 941 viewsSonicBoom

Seeing Dibling at eastleigh made me think. How does the club allow him to play with no pads? Hes potentially a 30 million pound asset yet hes allowed to risk serious injury.
Joey Barton said today that he would target him as he'd be easy to put out of the game.
Barton is a thug but I expect other players will think the same.
If I were the club I'd insist he protects himself. Players aren't allowed to ride motorbikes etc but hes risking a serious injury every time he steps on the pitch.
Seems very odd to let him do it.

Needs to stop giving the ball away.

Not really the point.
We have a factory floor where I work and no one is allowed out there without safety glasses. No exceptions, whether people like wearing them or not.
Seems odd the club tolerates him risking serious injury.

If we were to look at the managers who Dibling has played under at Saints:-

- Brent; just wanted to be everyone's mate

- Scruff; here for a few quid and a few months in a nice hotel

- Rusk; his first job; he just wanted to avoid us losing 10-0

Dibling hasn't had anybody managing him who isn't prepared to tolerate this nonsense.

I suspect Will Still is made of rather sterner stuff.

Poll: Would you be happy with Rishi Sunak as a new Saints owner?

Seems to be a trend these days, lots of players playing with socks down & no shin pads.
Shin pads do give some protection against minor knocks but I can speak from experience, they don't stop broken legs, my shin pad snapped at the same time as my Tibia & Fibula.
Another thing I've noticed is the number of players that can't play without having a bandage on their hand or wrist.
I can't believe that they all have injured their wrist playing football, might be something that they do when not playing.

It is the rules that you have to wear shin pads, so Dibling will be wearing them, they will just be so small that you wouldn't notice.

Over the years shin pads have shrunk in size and also thickness due to new synthetic materials being thinner and stronger.

I am not sure if there is a minimum size, but I have seen some of the smaller pads and they are probably about 2 inches wide and 3 inches long, about the width of a smartphone and half the length

Android or IOS?

To comply with the regulations the right one has to be android and the left IOS, the simple way of remembering what one to put in what sock is by the number of letters in the word right and left.

Android like the word Right has more letter than IOS and the word left, this enables the modern day player to prepare before a game without the stress of worrying which sock each shin pad could go in

Are you suggesting that he can actually read? Should we be playing this dangerous intellectual?

It would be curtains for your shins if you tried using windows phones as shinpads. Far better off with a pair of Nokia Communicators 😀
