There are two bars immediately behind the little Castillet in the middle of town - Grand Cafe and Cafe de Gare (the better of the two).
The rugby fans tend to mass around that little square on the Saturday, should be pretty chilled Friday. Le VIP restaurant just there is really good if you want a steak that's barely been introduced to the oven served with melted brie.
Really cool little bar just round the corner from there called La Guardia. And the usual collection of what you'd expect around Place de la Republique.
This is all in the middle of Perps.
Only ever been down to Canet once and it was out of season so bit of a ghost town so don't know that as well. | | | |

Had the absolute time of my life during France 98 in Toulouse when England were there to play Colombia.
100-a-side football in the main town square with the church doors as goals and some three-day madness at the packed campsites, particularly when the Dutch turned up. Was superb.

Having got thumped by a Spanish La Liga 2 side, we are taking on a side that finished 10th in French Ligue 1. We may play a team a little closer to our Championship starting XI, but I'm not expecting much.
For those going, remember it's not being played in Toulouse nor Perpignan itself, but Canet-en-Rousillon, which is close to the latter.
