At the moment the assumption is the away end can’t be reduced, but it must be able to be increased to 4500 if required for the FA Cup. So the barriers that look permanent must either be able to be moved or the club plan to revert to placing netting over the seats for FACup games when required.

Where the extra 1500 are going to be is anyone’s guess. Either further into the kingsland or further round into the chapel.

I think that there is a way to reduce the allocation just like there has to be away to increase it.

Time will tell .

As you say, surely when a club like Stoke only bring 800 fans down or Preston on a Tuesday night bring 500, they can put them in the block right next to the Chapel, leave a block empty for segregation and they could have Saints fans could fill the block next to the Kingsland, even if they have to walk down to the front of the pitch to access the facilities in the Kingsland. I can imagine it might be impossible to give Saints fans an extra 500 tickets, if the away club say sell 2500, unless they are able to move the metal barrier fence.
