Prior planning prevents piss poor performance was often referred to before I became hierarchical. Measure twice and cut once was another. I know dat you feeling me, Bro.
Perhaps if the old manager hadn’t been out on gardening leave and we’d been able to hire Julien sooner, then he would have had more time to get shit together and help assess what we needed. Especially in terms of players, systems, preseason, fitness etc.
Would it have made any difference ? We’ll never know for sure but it probably would have helped with the first month of games IMO. |  |

I mean, in their defence, there's a month of window left. There'll be more signings. Difficult to judge what we look like before September 1. I hope it looks different to this.
Problem is we've got some very winnable games between now and then that ideally you wouldn't burn off working things out. |
Someone else already made the good/sad point that we also seem to go into a new season half-cooked and then have to try to pull things round with signings as late as February. It's just not good enough. We're at least 3-4 players away from what we need, and at least half of them are strikers. I have us down as early-season strugglers right now. |  |

Right now it's the same for most clubs across the PL and EFL.
