QPR: The Modern Circus of West London – Column on 08:51 - Aug 5 with 843 views | Blue_Castello | Excellent article which gives you a real sense of the true heart and soul of the club as it established itself in the community and the highs and lows of success and failure, it's because we struggle to achieve success that there is so much euphoria when it's achieved. Reaching the other Wembley finals was a success, very close to beating the Spurs but it's far easier to forget the Milk Cup debacle. The Fernandes tenure was a disaster, the man had good intentions but went about it like a bull in a China shop and never once thought about the Financial implications, he may have officially left in 2023 but Ruben took over long before that which managed to stabilise us financially.

But its just a nitpick, still looking forward to going back "home" on Saturday, even if I fear for the actual football this year!

For all the sh1t we went through under TF, the memories of the 2011 Championship title and the 2014 play off final win are indelible. I wouldn't swap them for anything.

QPR: The Modern Circus of West London – Column on 10:58 - Aug 5 with 661 views | MrSheen | Great article. For a club that is so identified with a single area, we have played in a lot of different places - Wiki records 13, including Park Royal for 8 years, as well as The Gun Club (not CBGBs?) and the Horse Ring, wherever they were. I think the recent crises section might have included the disastrous Chris Wright era, which included merger with a now defunct rugby club, asset-stripping of the training ground, talk of a super stadium in Iver (me neither) and at its disastrous close, plans to merge with Wimbledon and move to Milton Keynes. Another linked thread is how our perils were shared and woven in with our neighbours'. I'm not sure where Jim Gregory proposed playing the merged/absorbed QPR-Brentford, but I know that Fulham fans feared that Fayed's plan A was moving their club to W12 to facilitate "flats on the Cottage". Would either identity have survived that? Anyway, anxiety is meat and drink to a Rangers fan, so ahead of another perilous-looking season, lets be grateful that despite everything, we are still, "Shit, but local".

Fernandes didn't arrive until after the 2011 promotion, which was achieved under the tenure of Paladini, Briatore and Ecclestone (for me the three most odious individuals to have held senior positions at QPR).

QPR: The Modern Circus of West London – Column on 16:19 - Aug 5 with 477 views | BushRanger82 | I always found the 1882 date, was a bit of a lie. In 1882 nobody in the whole world had ever heard of Queen's Park Rangers, because it simply didn't exist until 1886. The sooner the club puts that right, the better. Oh, and they should restore the apostrophe in Queens. It should be Queen's.

But what I really love about it is that it doesn’t dip into the well of self-pity that football fans oftentimes do. It’s us. It’s who we are. For good, for bad, for ever. Enjoyed it so much.

Same with Barons Court and Earl's Court. There must have been loads of Barons but only one Earl.
