I heard a line somewhere today that we are no better off, no worse off it’s just different. In 30 years time, those kids will be saying ‘it wasn’t like that in my days lad, you don’t know you’re born.’ Twas ever thus.

It was certainly a lot safer for children 30 years ago.

In some ways maybe.

Maybe 30 years ago is a bit too recent but roads when I was a kid 60+ years ago were more dangerous. Cars were heavier, brakes not as good, road policing not as strict, drink driving more acceptable / no breathalyser, people not having ever taken a driving test.

Crime against kids probably no different, those type of perpetrators have always been there.

Sexual crimes against girls / women? Now I don’t have the stats to back it up but I’d say that’s increased exponentially due to reasons we know about.

I'd say infinitely worse off now
Everywhere and everything needs to be vetted
No freedom as we had
And no jobs for life nor jobs for those non academically advantaged
Mobiles have killed off conversational skills
God bless em

Worse off and it's going to get a whole lot worse for them, i doubt today's Grandchildren in years to come will be looking back at our Generation with to much affection.

They'll be better off blaming their parents, it's the 25-35's who are mostly in the snowflake camp. They need safe places because words hurt so much, we're not allowed to insult people, it makes them cry.

Besides, most of the damage is being down by the rich and powerful and their political mates.

Grew up under the idea my Old Man installed in me , get a Pension Plan through your Workplace wages , save for a Mortgage and buy your first house whatever .

Because of my income then k8 per annun and a rigid working contract a flexible Building Society took a chance on me .

Yougsters I speak to now in my workplace are k9 a year in debt in tuition fees .
Each year that rolling debt has to be paid back , some Courses last 5 years .

Rightly , we can blame the feral and criminals in our younger generation , all out of control .

I also come across a lot of good honest youngsters on a daily basis too .

That’s about right I reckon - so hard to compare.

There are some specific challenges for young people now around money - with the obvious exceptions of war times, these are the first generations to grow up poorer than their parents and in many cases will have a worse quality of life.

There’s also the feeling that the generation before have pulled the ladder up behind them, hence the ‘Boomer’ term being a common insult.

There’s also quite a lot of data around teenagers in the uk being particularly unhappy compared to other countries which is a worry.

Or a dumb public with no backbone who allow the elite to do what they do.
