How much would you be willing to pay for Saito? With a 5m asking price from Lommell and the vultures circling (Birmingham), what do you think is a fair price?

For me, I'm dropping no more than 1.5m with some addons (maybe up to 3m?). I love him and we spent last season getting him used to Champ football, but it's not a position of need for us, he's pretty small which potentially limits his resale value, and so I doubt we'd easily make much more than that back any time soon (even with his high upside).

If we do have any money left in the kitty, surely it needs to used on a LB and CM.

No point being overloaded with attacking players if we lose the midfield every week and our left back is a development kid.

I like him. I have a high degree of confidence that whoever buys him is going to be able to sell him for a profit in 18 months. But I just don't think that we have the disposable income to throw at this when we have gaping holes that are a necessity rather than a luxury.

I agree we now have different options, would prefer if we went for Hayden to shore up the midfield

Would agree we have other pressing needs but I’d think that a fee for Saito plus say Hayden on a free and couple of loans at FB should be doable.

If that’s meant to be a good analogy you’ve sorely failed

(a) you can only wear one pair of shoes at a time. We have two to three attacking midfield positions and 3 games a week. And he’s light users ahead of Smyth and Sutton, and indeed Kolli when he plays wide

(b) this is down to a matter of opinion but if the new shoes are better than all her other shoes then they might well be worth it. I think Saito has standout attributes no one else has

(c) if your wife’s shoes could get her promoted to a better role or job than she currently has, they’d more than pay back her investment. Saito could do that

(d) your wife can’t sell on her shoes in a years time for 4 times what she paid for them

Lastly the Dunne comment… that’s just weird… you’re simplyproving my point. He is a mega important player for us and worth the money. So is Saito

We'll agree to disagree. I genuinely like him but for a squad as weak in both full-back spots and every midfield position, we have more pressing needs for that money. Anyhoo...

a) We already own Smyth and Sutton and paid nothing for them. Saito has scored one more goal (2) than Smyth (1). Sutton is 18 and has 1 appearance from the bench. Are either worth £5m? No. Are either worth £1m? No. Can't see your point here.

b) Your opinion. My missus has shoes I don't like and that's her opinion. Difference here is she pays for her shoes not me so I have no say. If we spend a phenomenal amount of money on a player I don't rate, I can and will honk about it.

c) Of course, he could, in which case, I'd happily eat my words.

d) If you think Lommel are letting a player with £20m upside go for a *bargain* £5m, you're clearly more itk than me.

... and back to a) - we own Jimmy Dunne and got him for almost little to no risk - what you're calling for is like putting the mortgage on the 1:50 at Kempton.

I agree, I said about that 2/3M would be worth it

Anyway I’m absolutely sure we don’t have 5M to spend so it’s a moot point.

If QPR sign Saito for 5M I’ll eat GroveR’s wife’s new shoes

If you could stop her buying them in the first place that'd be even betterer 😂

Maybe we can swap or sell Celar and do a deal for Saito. With Burrell and Kone in, we could probably let him go.

Sigh.

I’ve NEVER said pay £5 million.

So you’re really arguing against a point I haven’t made. Which is tiresome.

But I will say you’re VERY wrong about him being a player you don’t rate. He’s top.

You can't put a price on Good Kharma.

Love to see him back, but I doubt it'll happen.

I'm not arguing with anything - point to anywhere I've said "you said he's worth £5m AND YOU'RE WRONG! LOL!!1!" BushRanger says he's worth £5m - fair play to him - opinion and value are subjective.

But you carry on with your absolutist views and theatrical little devices like the lone *sigh* at the start of a post - I find it quite endearing.

Thanks, I shall.

Just need Saito to sign now… proof is in the pudding.

A tricky player and a great lad but do we really need him alongside dembele chair and smyth to make us seem more like a year 10 team.
