Swansea has its first Reform councillor on 17:55 - Aug 19 with 1832 views | majorraglan | We need more people who are prepared to stand up, speak frankly and tell it as it is, but what we don’t need are people like O’Brien who come out with stupid comments such as putting people down, and as if that wasn’t bad enough she put it in writing! I don’t know O’Brien, but if the old saying about past behaviour being a predictor for future behaviour it may not bode well, on the other hand that may have been a one off which she now regrets. Reform certainly have a bit of traction at the moment, but quite a few of their cohort have checkered or “colourful” pasts and there’s not much in terms of policy at the moment.

We know tney are. Stermer is very much a wet lettuce who changes direction with the wind. The tories are just washed up, they had 14 years and won't be forgiven quickly. Choices are few.

Comparisons with Tories doesn’t make it any better You would never credit them with anything “ ludicrous” at all I read a long term fan describing Khan as an excellent Zmsyor Why? He’s Labour

No mandate , forward thinking or planning so far by Reform , all stop the small boats now . An Election victory on that one pledge , I doubt it . Starmer was voted in on his promise to stop the crossings from day one too , he got in . Farage will be marmite for many , but many voters now are fed up of Politicians and lies . Saddest part is many current youngsters these days cannot be bothered to vote . Politics and Politicians , nah , their all the same innit . | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I used to think that too that they’d have no chance of winning the GE but with Corbyn and sultana going ahead with their new “your party” venture which will no doubt massively split the Labour vote and hoover up all the votes from the Muslims, anti semites and the far left nutters I now put reform as very strong favourites.

I'm still cutting Labour some slack. Lets face it, 14 disastrous years under the tories was never going to be fixed quickly, 12 months is nowhere near enough, I'm sire I said before the election it'd take over 2 terms but doubted Labour would get two. That said, I am very unimpressed so far. The back benchers have thrown out some welfare changes, the small boats agreement with Macron is a farce and the tax situation, we all knew saying they wouldn't raise taxes was a mistake, it was bount to happen and no matter hw they dreswd up the NI raise, it's tax. There's more but why go on. We need an end to Labout AND tory governments, we need change but I really don't believe Reform are what we need. Nor is the new Corbyn party mind. That doesn't leave us a great choice.

The fourteen years of Tory shambles was preceded by thirteen years of Blair and brown fundamentally ripping up the foundations of this country, and that was preceded by Major taking us into Maastricht, black Wednesday etc so arguably we’ve had about 35 years of shambolic government to set right.

Corbyn back on the landscape again with his ideas , scrap Trident our nuclear defence . PLO flags all over the UK , Isreal are bad and must be stopped , my leftie views now . Imagine him trying to stop the illegal immigrants if he was in the hot seat and had a say . Then United Kingdom Politics really would be down the kazi .

I'd say it's been even longer but as it often comes down to left v right (and I've been called a tory boy and a loony lefty) I settled for the last government. Your point about Blair and Brown, I've had a go at them many times. Major, he signed away this countru's sovereignty and even his own party wasn't behind him.

All of the fundamental issues facing the UK today are a result of the New Labour Government and the steadfast refusal of subsequent Governments to rectify their decisions. David Cameron described himself as "The Heir to Blair" FFS. We've had nearly 30 years of Centre/Centre Left Govt and see where it's put us.

All Cabinet Ministers asked of their solutions to the chaos we are in will give the same waffled reply , we inherited a broken system , blah blah . Maybe the Human Rights lawyer we have now with his I will smash the small boats asap should choose his promises again , too late now mush for you sitting in No 10 . Justified civil unrest and anger on the UK Streets will continue unless very serious decisions are made by our Government . Think we have not got the Leader to contol the real issues now and out of his depth .

14 years of idiots ruining the country was never going to be solved in a year. I said - it is in black and white on here many times - that when Labour took over it would take 2 terms to get it anywhere near right. Tories , the lot who failed us for 14 years, are now defecting to Reform. They are mostly failed Tories. Enough said.

So by that one sweeping statement your accusing all Reform present ,present councillors,MPs and their supporters as being homophobic, racist , why not include child molesters to complete the set . I could say and I have personal experience of this that all social workers are a stain on society, but I won't because I'm more intelligent than that .
