How about not targetting aid posts killing aid workers.Since October 2023 more than 500 aid workers, including staff from organisations the IRC partners with on the ground in Gaza, have been killed, alongside at least 1,500 health workers. It's claimed at least 70 aid workers were killed in the first six months of this year alone.

This is the problem. Any ceasefire or peace deal that leaves Hamas in power will only lead to them regrouping, rebuilding and plotting more atrocities against Israel and also to their ‘own’ people. Israel have determined correctly that the only way to solve the problem in the long run is the utter obliteration of Hamas.

It makes me wonder why the surrounding Arabic countries are not allowing Palestinians to cross their borders.
The people of gaza cannot stand up to a terrorist organisation that are willing to sacrifice their own people.
One of the biggest problems I can see is that leaders of certain countries are putting pressure on the wrong side. They make Hamas look like the good guy. Which in turn gives Hamas the idea that they can dictate terms of a ceasefire. Hamas started this and I hope for the people of Palestine that the hostages are released and hamas lay down their arms very soon.
I notice the BBC use figures at the end of every report on the war to accuse Israel of genocide.

At least 350,000 German civilians died in WW2, including women and children. Probably many more. Israel is fighting against an existential threat, just as the Allies were.
It seems to me that the major issue is that Hamas has spent years burrowing into every facet of Gazan society, hiding its troops and its resources in civilian areas, banking on Israel not wanting to upset International opinion by risking the casualties involved in striking at them.
07/10/23 changed all that. Israel doesn't give a shit about International opinion any more. It just wants Hamas wiped out at all costs.
