We will be weaker when transfer window closes. 20:46 - Aug 20 with 980 viewsGRIM

It is likely that any players we bring in will not be as good as the ones that are leaving so that means we will be weaker when the window closes.
I hope I'm wrong.

I think you are right,GRIM.
Holding out for large transfer income is all very well but it may well backfire.
Should have taken the 40 odd million for Dibling and used it to strengthen the team.
The defence is not impressive and the forward line looks weak and if we sell Fernandes we weaken the midfield.
Have we dominated any team this season so far?

We were always going to be weaker, we were two years ago at the start of the season and even after the January break when Alcaraz left.

But it is not about being weaker or stronger its about having a side that can challenge for promotion.

Not sure I understand the last sentence.
Having a stronger side has a better chance of promotion than a weaker one.

It doesn't have to be that way Nick.
If SR were to buy the right players we could be stronger & have a team that could possibly compete in Premier lge.
It's not about spending a fortune it's just a case of buying the right players
(& Managers) which SR historically have not been good at.

Historically its been a mixed back in signing players under SR, two years ago we spent wisely and more to the point loaned wisely.

Last season we strangely didn't play most of the players we brought in, so it is hard to judge

Overall though if we sell Fernandes then i would say our good purchases outweigh our bad ones and we will be in profit

If our good purchases outweigh our bad purchases why do we have a worse team now than we had 2 years ago.

Nick, you have been on the wacky again. If we don't sell Fernandes, our good to bad ratio increases in our favour but if we sell him the ratio of good to bad worsens for us, (assuming that you don't think he was a bad purchase, of course. I never know with you.)

We spent badly 2 years ago (Stewart and Charles ) but loaned well.

As for that last sentence how do you work that out.SR transfer business has been propped by selling assets already at the club . E.g Tino and Jwp. Lavia is there one success at buying low and selling high. Fernadez will be there 2nd should they sell.

This is classic Nick bait.

Nick will claim the likes of Mara were a success as we some how got more back for him in transfer fees. However he was bought to replace Brojas goals and failed miserably.

Teams are always weaker in terms of personel after relegation, with the better ones sold to balance the financial impact. On the plus side we are playing weaker teams in the Championship. After two relagations our team is significantly weaker than the one that was competitive in the Premier League some years ago. We will have to build again I guess.
