Hip injury in training in January, then surgery, and we're now nearly 8 months on in September. The news blackout is just unreal. What did he do to his hip - eat it?
At what point do we just try to come to an agreement on this fella's contract? He's 28 next month and he's played barely 150 games! [Post edited 25 Aug 14:07]

He was standing pretty casually in his tracksuit after the Dutch friendly, trying to help Kolli think something through.
Well it's probably unfair of me to assume he felt relaxed on the inside, but he looked it to me.

I'm far more used to him being on the sick list than a player, lets hope he's put his injury woes well and truly behind him....it must be horrendous for him emotionally.

All good if he then returns to play the rest of the season uninterrupted, but there is almost no chance of that based on every season of his career to date . If he lasts 8 games after that it will be a miracle .

His numbers are so suspect that it's a little bit of a case of never knowing if he's crying wolf.
This injury required actual surgery, I hope for him and us that it fixes the underlying cause.
His goodwill account balanace is getting low. Ironically he reminds me of Keiron Dyer when we were nursing him on our money. Quality on the rare occasions you saw them.
If he plays 10 games I'll be both amazed and impressed. | |

I imagine the club have insurance against long term injury. Then again, the insurance company would probably up the premiums.
When my gorgeous MGB was stolen from outside the church, the insurance company wanted to double my premium.

He’s had surgery. He won’t have made that up. Scans etc. if he hadn’t had injury problems he’d never have ended up here. Fit, firing he’s class. Probably mid prem class. Never understood - as frustrating as it is - why anyone would give (genuinely) injury prone players a hard time. It’s shit being injured, he’ll want to play football. Hopefully comes back strong and post surgery has a decent run of it. |  |
