Meanwhile, Dael Fry, the player we should have bought from Middlesbrough has them clear at the top of the table with the best defensive record in the league.

Couldn't agree more.

Yes, today was another day without a win and yes, some will say it was Watford away & not a bad point.

But the crux of the matter is the same old problems that have plagued us for longer than I care to remember just keep coming back to haunt us.

In the very early Summer, we needed a top keeper, a top, solid, experienced, proven centre half, and a proven, top quality striker (at least at this level - a Josh Sargent for example who, incidentally, scored both of Norwich's goals today in their win).

We have thus far failed on all three counts. It's all well and good buying a plethora of wide midfielders, on the left, on the right, defensive midfielders, attacking midfielders, creative midfielders, holding midfielders... yadda yadda. But here we are, yet again, failing to address the same old elephant in the room. It's groundhog day once again.

With a little over 48-hours to go before the the transfer window closes, can someone, please, in the lofty heights of Sport Republic Towers, get the cheque book out & at least fill in a couple of the gaps above before all these midfielders they've purchased will count for nothing & we will, in all likelihood, be out of the running for promotion even before I'm pouring the bread sauce on my roast turkey Christmas dinner!

We just never learn
No matter who the manager we fail to address the key failures IE keeper CB striker - as I and many have said the spine of our team is and has been cack for years and still is
Pretty pathetic really

Watford’s goals.
First goal was a superb finish.
Second was a great free kick.
Bazunu wasn’t to blame for either goal.

Their first goal was also their first shot on target.

The first one he should of saved. its a pretty acute angle. To be fair having watched the free kick again its a decent free kick. He just looks like a lost little boy in goal.

Poll: Has the Ross Stewart deal already paid off as Nick says?

If we don't get the players we need then it won't be all SR's fault. What we end up with will be largely down to Will Still.

He has seen enough to know the problems in the squad and I'm sure the recruitment reflects his choices. He has been talking about the need for wingers (done), a right back (done) and an attacking midfielder (done). He has said absolutely nothing about a goalkeeper, CB or CF. So it will be no surprise if we don't get them.

Maybe he's right and he has what he needs in those positions, or maybe work is going on behind the scenes and new players will arrive by Monday. Either way, what we end up with can't be entirely blamed on, or credited to SR. It will have WS's fingerprints on it too. Let's hope he's got it right.

Recruitment is on Johannes Spors.

We were told to be encouraged by his arrival so I’m expecting something impressive from him.

Main problem is that we were so far behind in terms of our squad being weakened over the last few years, that we need more than a couple of good Championship players - and particularly as we’ve just sold our two best players.

Come on Spors, the window hasn’t shut yet. I agree with Dirk, decent keeper, centre back and striker still needed.

Poll: Who is MOSTLY to blame for this joke season?

Spors is smoking crack if he thinks Bazunu, Manning and Stephens are the required standard.

That's how I saw it.
2 good strikes and can't see how anyone can blame Bazunu for that.

For me we looked disjointed in midfield and they had way to much space to run into.

Their No 66 looked a really player. Bayern Munich loanee.

Can Nick find a way to blame Stephens??

So Spors recruits who he wants without WS saying what he needs?? That would be ridiculous. If we don't get a keeper, CB or CF it will be because they weren't a priority for WS.

First one was Manning's fault who allowed himself to be bullied and then went down like a fanny, the second Bazunu showed his left side and dared Irankunda to shoot there, he did and in turn made Bazunu look more of a shit keeper than he already is.

I disagree on the first goal.

I agree that he isn’t good enough.
I’d rather have McCarthy in goal.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

This is why I said it was a game we had to win. It is clear now we will not be champions. Also, come end of season we will look back at 5 points (already) dropped against two sides that the top 2 WILL BEAT.

My pre-season prediction was 9th or 10th. I believe we have to squad to do much better, but I am sorry to say at this stage I worry with Will Still we have another one who will not see/change his ways and thus we will suffer for it.
