When Reuben Agboola was playing for us, I had a bench seat in the lower West Stand on the edge of the box at the Archers Road end. In those days the away fans were in their zoo enclosure in the West Stand / Archers corner and then a section of the Archers main terrace adjacent to the enclosure. Saints fans in the Archers next to the away fans started singing
Aroo, Aroo,
Aroo, Aroo,
Aroo, Aroo, Aroo…
Then nothing
They’d keep repeating it until the away fans did it back usually mockingly as it made no sense to them
As soon as they did the Saints fans would reply
A Reuben Agboola, ba doobie do do!
Quite amusing to watch the reaction from the away fans when they realised they’d been stitched up by responding.
From memory Swansea fans held out to the one minute of injury time (remember those days?) and were very pi@@ed off having held out since about halfway through the first half. [Post edited 1 Sep 18:59]
