This is team SR inherited in 2021 /22. Lets be honest it wasnt great. However I dont think 1 of the current starting 11 would get in that team.

1 Forster/Mccartney
2 KWP
3 Tino
4 Bednarek
5 Salisu

6 Elyounssi
7 JWP
8 Romeu
9 Redmond

10 Adams
11 Broja

Poll: Has the Ross Stewart deal already paid off as Nick says?

It looks great now.

You cannot reason a person out of something they were not reasoned into.

Lets be fair if we went back 3 years the following barely had a good word said about them on this message board or elsewhere.

Forster/McCarthy
Bednarek
Salisu
Elyounoussi
Redmond
Adams.

You may have a point that few of our current squad would get in the team, perhaps Harwood-Bellis ahead of Bednarek or Salisu, Fernandes would have been better than Elyounoussi perhaps Azaz will be.

The two forwards got something like 11 goals between them so not hard to beat.

Its interesting to note that none of these players have really gone on to better things, Livramento definitely, Che Adams 19th highest scorer in Serie A with 9 goals, the top scorer got 25.

In the 3 1/2 years since Broja has scored just 2 league goals

We have a squad now to get us out of the Championship, this time next year we will hopefully have to build on those foundations to keep us in the Premier League

Getting relegated demands a complete overhaul of your players which we did. Then we got promoted so we needed to change personnel again, and then got relegated so we have done it for a third time.
You have to cut your cloth to suit and I think this time we've done that. But if we get promoted I expected more musical chairs...

3.5 years is not a long enough time period.

The rot set in as soon as Gao arrived and it's been on the same depressing trajectory, give or take, since then.

We may have the squad to challenge for the playoffs but have we the right manager ?

Martin got his squad to 4th place quite comfortably without ever challenging for the top two .

Will Still get the team into the playoffs or at very least challenge for them?

We’ll find out soon enough .
