Seriously - he is going to have a massive effect on Ronald whose own performances can be a bit hit and miss. We can manage him well and it’s not like we are demanding he plays 90 minutes every week but the whole window has done this for (now) all positions. As long as the squad have the mindset of “I’m going onto the pitch to give 100% for the team before I come off for a rest” and look on the season as a job share exercise with no ego’s being put out I think we can really do something special this season. Especially if the encourage and support their fellow positional colleagues it will be a great season for us. |  | |  |

we can now rotate without weakening the team (although CB we can't really afford to rotate much) when we have 3 games in a week, where as before we were flogging players and looked shattered in the 3rd game | |

That , I think will be crucial going forward , certainly from Benson's point of view as he has had some bad ones . I have had 3 achilles tendon ops but a good surgeon/consultant got me back to where i was before . If he has made a FULL recovery from his achilles problems then there should not be any issues . Constant dialogue with him will be essential and obviously a lot of monitoring . Many achilles problems can be caused by simple things like wearing the wrong type of footwear - avoid anything that causes friction however small at the back of the heel as this will eventually cause tendonitis and failure of the tendon. | | | |
