For all the unnecessary knowledge I have of QPR I know little to nothing about the managers of the distant past.
11 managers from 1906 until Alec Stock leaving in 1968.
11 managers (plus caretakers) from Gary Waddock in 2006 to Ramsey leaving in 2015. |  | | |

Yes, looking at the bottom three, it seems to be saying if you want to spend more time in the Premier League than you really should do, keep binning the manager.
At the other end of the scale, Ipswich, doing the commendable thing, seem to have had two good years out of twenty five rather horrendous years.
From this league table clubs have likely paid or paid up three year contracts for an average of less than 18 months work. Think the sensible approach would be to offer one year contracts at maybe 50% higher salary. Bad ones you’d save equivalent of 18 months salary, promising ones that go wrong in the second season, you cut even, and if they survive longer than that it would only be because they’ve shown their very good. |  | | |

According to Wiki we've had 24 managers since 2000, although Ian Holloway & Mick Harford are listed twice. Personally, I've no idea if Harford or Hart were permanent or temporary appointments, but if we deduct their 3 joint appearances we come to the 21 quoted above. The Briatore years account for 9 managers listed, at least 6 of them permanent.
I assume that Watford were reasonably stable until they became part of a group ownership. | | | |

It would be interesting to se a comparison from teams in say the 1980s., 90s and so on.
I guess with the advent of DOF, analytics for scouting and more definied playing styles for a longer period of time, managers are viewed as less important than they once were and more easily replaced by someone with a similar philosophy.
I guess also the pressure for success (whatever that is....) is much more intense now. | |

Does it include caretaker managers.
We have had a few in this timespan.
Warnock did it once and Ainsworth has done it twice - in addition to their separate spells as manager.
John Eustace was caretaker also. Probably means the stats not quite as they seem as well. [Post edited 13 Sep 8:16]
