Idah fit for Saturday, Stamenic out for 3 weeks or so on 08:37 - Sep 12 with 1344 views | RichardO | Hoping it is a niggle that has been picked up and not a pre-existing issue, if it is then maybe early surgery to rectify the problem, Allen's surgery on his groin did seem to cure his groin injury but with his playing style and the toll it takes it was decide for him to step away. Hoping Stamenic injury is one that is recoverable in the long term but careful handling will be needed to ensure his full recovery to benefit us. Will be interesting to see the starting line up with the enforced changes, the new signings at the end of the xfer window along with the playing times and long journeys that some of our players have had during international duties.

Don’t be surprised Accept everything expect nothing Here we have a player clearly injured being asked to travel to the other side of the world That alone is enough to ask questions He looks a Stella player and we’ve lost him almost immediately for a.while Travelling on a plane would have helped And this for a forking friendly Friendlies are basically financial and another excuse for a p up Having selfies with foreign cops , singing lustily and patting a few pussies before returning home to a rural idyll A massive massive interruption from what most fans want and that is their CLUB prospering

He was flown back from the New Zealand camp having sustained the injury there. He wouldn’t have gone had he been injured at Sheffield Wednesday 👍 I stand to be corrected of course.

From what I understand and I may be way off…. The club allowed him to fly to New Zealand. Their medical team checked him out and sent him back, now he’s out for a few weeks. If that is right, it’s down to us. No way should he have been allowed to go on international duty. His injury should have been diagnosed here without the two 24 hour flights. It’s not a friendly or an international football issue in this case, though I do agree flying to New Zealand for. a friendly is a bit unnecessary regardless of fitness.

Wasn't it a serious match for the ANZAC Cup or something I don't think they'd that as a meaningless friendly. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

We could do with another like Stamenic, need a dog in front of the back four unfortunately Fulton can't do it.

A dog? A player who plays one touch football when needed then offers himself in a position further up the pitch to enable the ball to be played forward through the midfield and sees the forwards runs, one that sees the game around himself and acts accordingly in attack and defence, yes we do need that type but would hardly call them a dog, more of a presence.

Dog was the wrong description, your description of a presence is far more apt.

Option Framco in the role with Galbraith alongside him and then the more forward thinking midfield/striker alongside Vipotnik? Bit of a tricky one, will better attacking option leave us open in the midfield for defence or a better defensive option leaving us lacking in attack?
