That’s the issue. Can’t see people putting up with this too much. And as he has seen this week the board have a ruthless streak.

Swansea City : Poor tactics and negativity costs the Swans two points on 22:08 - Sep 13 by Dr_Winston | Excuse me, but some of us had realised that Williams wasn't up to it well before the "West Brom Crap". Speaking for myself, my doubts had started not long after he got here. I believe that I am on record questioning the wisdom of appointing the manager responsible for the third worst defensive record in League Two when we were getting regularly spanked early in his tenure. I'm also happy to state that I've questioned Sheehan's decisions before, most notably with his playing of Cullen ahead of Vipotnik last season. It's not unknown for managers to have blind spots when it comes to certain players. Even good managers. Cullen just isn't good enough. He's never been good enough as a striker, and barring a short spell isn't good enough in midfield either. Sheehan needs to realise that quite quickly. |
It does seem as if Sheehan doesn't want to rock the boat in his selections be it the starting line up or substitutions trying to keep everybody happy, Eom, Cullen, Idah and Widell, he had lost Stamenic and Fulton so I breve and I asked the question as to who would play in the midfield and questioned formation, I think he picked the most obvious starting eleven although that starting eleven was pegged back relatively easily. The subs seemed to be ill fought out, Sheehan had seen out games by adding defensive strength in the air in the shape of Fulton even using Christie but today didn't use Casey which surprised me, as I said seemed to be trying to keep players new and old happy. Hope he doesn't make that mistake again.

Swansea City : Poor tactics and negativity costs the Swans two points on 21:09 - Sep 13 by builthjack | Just back from the game. Poor management today. It was obvious that the half time team talk was getting that second goal and keep the ball. Frustrating for the supporters and must be very frustrating for Ronald who was sticking to Sheehans poor tactics. Very much Williams like tactics. I thought Sheehan would have learnt by now. Boos at the end of the game said it all. Not good enough. Why does Franco keep getting substituted ? It buggered the midfield up. On call Rob or whatever it’s called now, Sheehan stated that he had decided before the game to take Vipotnic off after 60 minutes. Why on earth did he take a guy off who was performing well, looked fitter than ever, and looked like he could do more damage. Innousa was taken off at virtually the same time, yet was arguably our most dangerous player. None of it makes sense. Ooh, and EOM is a very weak link. |
Let’s hope Sheehan learns from his mistakes today regarding subs ,Vipotnik ,Inoussa and Yalcouye should have stayed on longer ,Cullen should never have been an option and Benson should have been used instead of EOM We have to mark opposing wide men tighter, giving them so much space is just inviting balls into dangerous areas ,in the second half today ,Hull had 13 shots with 5 on target to our 4 shots 1 on target, they targeted our fullbacks and it worked, our substitutions helped them achieve this . As for the referee,if he’s bad but consistent with both sides you just have take it but today Hull were given everything and he completely ignored blatant fouls on our players , the one on Ronald late in the game in particular as that would have had an impact on the final result

How many times do we score, take our foot off the gas and then within 10-15 minutes the opposition score. I haven't looked at the timings of the equalising goals today but I'd bet good money that they are near to those time frames. It's been going on for years, rather than look to kill teams off we try and mange the game out which we are not good enough to do. Go 1 up go for 2. 2-1 up look to get 3. 3 up look to get 4. Swans always look more comfortable when attacking than manging a game. That said had it not been for vigs we could have conceded 3 - 4. All from trying to manage the game out from too early on. Something Sheehan will have to address and assess his options better, things we have seen him tweak in the past.

Game management was very poor yesterday both goals were scored right at the end of each half. Messing about in the opposition corner trying to run the clock down with nearly 7 minutes of added time left, what was all that about. Saying that they could have won, they had 15 shots 6 on target compared to our 9 with 2 on target both goals, their keeper didn't need to make a save. Realistically we were lucky not to lose.
