What's the future for him now. Didn't make the bench yesterday and less chance when Stamenic and Fulton are fit, unless Vipotnik or Idah are injured. Surely we will put a strong team out against Forest and go with the same squad. So under 21s for Wales? that's a lot of money for a u21 player and probably not the deal he was sold

And now a periferal figure
Is it not fair to ask as to why and what is going on with him
He and Widdle were Stella signings

Can’t all be all be in the first eleven, possibly see him on Wednesday but Idah should start.

Heard he will be out on loan come January.

Weird ain’t
For year's we’ve gone on about not bringing in players , now we have brought in too many IMO
Wales was our first buy yet now he is nowhere
Why buy him
Then Widell , so good he was loaned back to his former club Ergo a player we wanted badly
Now he is a bit part player
Then , we bring in more on loan , as cover, hmm
I’d rather us have used funds to bring in higher quality players who were nailed on to start , like Galbraith

Soz but I stay uneasy with Sheehan and to a lesser extent with the owners
Montague leaving after seven months doesn’t look good either

I hope I’m wrong but Sheehan to me is playing with a poker face

He’s supposed to be honest and deserved the job but people change

He was responsible for yesterday as the buck stops with him

If Montague didn’t want to leave he should have done his job.

But it doesn’t look good does it

As for Wales , why buy a lad if clearly not seen as good enough

Forgive me, but I am baffled but it’s just me

Anyway, I’m grateful to be able to comment as I see it and I will carry on doing so

Are you able to confirm or deny that Montague went on holiday during August, when he was supposed to be in work or was asked to stay away pending a decision on his future. It makes a massive difference to the credibility of the individual.

I think Bobby was signed with an eye on the future . He’ll get his chances but he’ll understand that he’s got two international 9’s in front of him and one in red hot form.

Kids only 20. He’s only really played at Scottish league 1 level. Most of his appearances for Killie were off the bench as Derek Mcinnes generally preferred experience up front.

He’s not going to displace more experienced seasoned internationals yet. But he’s got talent and I’ve got no doubt we’ll see more of him later.

Every poster in this thread has stuck to topic and not made any snide remark , like you , again
“ Some” really need help
I hope you’re ok , seriously

Regarding Wales, some comments I’d expect but given we desperately needed a proven striker, why sign one that isn’t

It’s a fair point , on my view

It’s a bloody discussion and this site is the conduit for just that

Generally we have a number of players trying to get back from injuries or getting use to playing in the championship and we are still trying to find the correct positions and team setup in different circumstances, managers will have seen our setup last year under Sheehan and will act accordingly.
I would love to youngsters like Wales get game time but will that be prudent against Forest. Will Casey and Parker as other youngster who have seen action this season in the cup be picked? I would rather see our own players picked rather than loanees but when needs must loans must be used.

This game even though could be a decent money spinner if we win but more importantly certain players need gametime as points in the championship are more important.

Im hoping that wales, parker and casey get decent minutes along with idah and the other two loan signings that haven't featured yet.

I'm looking to see how Sheehan can strengthen the midfield, we seem relatively sorted with Stamenic and in his absence Yalcouye fitted in all be it giving Franco and more so Galbraith deeper roles. Taking firstly taking both Inoussa and Vipotnik off blunted our attack and invited Hull on then taking Yalcouye off seem to further weaken our attacking intent and finally taken Franco off opened the flood gates.

I want to see how Sheehan stops that capitulation from happening again, it may not all be about the substitutions as we concede the goal in the first half having been counter attacked as we were caught out of shape, Vipotnik chasing back not the midfield? Yes we got outdone by some very slick passing and finishing but we gave them space to play quick ball.
Do you think he will change the starting midfield to look for adequate cover with Stamenic and Fulton out or maybe change the formation a bit?

Id expect the side to look a bit like this.

Fisher
Parker
Casey
Cabango
Samuels smith
Melker
Yalcouye
Galbraith
Benson
Inoussa
Idah

7 players getting much needed gametime and certain players getting a rest.

Plenty of options on the bench, depending on how its going will see on who gets taken off, who comes on and when.

Our attack was poor throughout the game on Saturday, we didn't work their keeper enough and he didn't need to make one save. Lets be honest we didn't defend well either Vigouroux apart, if he didn't make the excellent saves we would have lost. Football is all about opinions but apart from the first 10 minutes I thought Hull bossed the game. Poor tactics by Sheehan and appalling substitutions. Were we better before Darren O'Dea joined because he certainly didn't help Sheehan on Saturday.

Inoussa and Cabango have both had injury issues and integral to this year's campaign so may not use them?
Three youngsters in the back four against a Premier league team?
Interestingly someone pointed out that Idah ended up on the right wing at times on Saturday so do we go with two up top with one making runs inbehind the fullbacks and centrebacks and four across the middle adding more strength to the midfield with an eye to getting forward where possible or cover the fullback as they get forward.
Lots foe Sheehan to think about, the needs of the new players and the team to get up to speed ASAP.
And
Keeping the fans happy with a win in the cup.

The more and longer cup runs we have give more opportunities to blood the "fringe" players so that they can build the strength of the squad.

Know lots were against resigning McBurnie but a striker like that is exactly what we need to get on the end of those crosses like the goal he scored. We just don’t have anyone busting a gut to get on to the many crosses we put in.

We spent too long chasing and put too many eggs in the Guebbels basket. That was the one blemish this window IMO

Most of those crosses are in the air - Idah should fit the bill for those. As we’ve seen recently Vipotnik thrives with ball to feet in and around the area and smacking them in. Ronald’s goal showed similar instincts to McBurnies - maybe we have three different types of goal scorer that might serve us better over the long run this season.
And to be fair both Ronald and Vipotnik have scored double that McBurnie has managed (even though it’s still early doors).

Maybe one of our central defenders lacks that little bit of pace given that the likes of McBurnie could exploit it?
Experience can give you an edge both in attack and defence.

Nice to see us getting more play through the middle of the park and consequently more goals but if the midfield is pushing forward then the fullbacks need to be aware that numbers are needed in defence.

I do worry that teams now try to keep two forwards up and have a high line of four midfielders to press us , yes that leaves holes in the middle which we have seen Vipotnik come into but the players dropping deep must be able to create or have more options available to them as they have balls to feet, there is also the factor of coming too deep then having no-one to pass to as the fullbacks have been positioned too high. There is always the option of the goalie if a concerted press is applied but a good touch is always required then.
Alway a balance to games as both teams try and get the upper hand and definitely don't want to see players trying to be too clever trying to buy soft freekicks in tight games when the referee seems reluctant to give them, at least to us.

We have also missed wide players coming in at the back post for crosses. We haven't done it properly since the Connor Roberts days, Ronald is showing how successful this can be three already in the league this season.
