Does anybody take supplements?

As I'm getting older I'm reading more about collagen and creatine. Creatine always seen as a body building / fitness supplement but now being proven to have other health benefits including mental health.

I have a good diet, have cut out the processed foods, am eating more meat and eggs, circuit training 2-3 times a week and walk or swim when I can. I have shed 3 Stone in last year.

If so, I'm looking at nutrition geeks. Anybody used these?

A decent balanced diet gives you most of your vitamins
Vitamin D supps in winter are worth it however
Lot of profit in this business

I use creatine and collagen, I train a lot and have been using both for about a year. The results are pretty impressive in terms of muscle growth and performance.

Creapure is better than cheap creatine from somewhere like home bargains, but that's ok too. I don't think the brand of collagen makes much difference

You need to increase your water intake if you're using creatine too, not too much maybe an extra glass or two a day.

Balanced diet eat sensibly and do some exercise, been doing exactly that since probably May, dropped off 13kgs now, feel much better and best of all I'm now off BP and Statin's, bordering around 100kg's heading for 95, then 90 and hopefully 85kgs.

I do plenty of exercise/stretches and use dumbbells regularly, the Farmers Work is a great workout, just take it steady, I've a straight 15 yard walk in my backyard so I walk up and back for as long as my forearms hold out, I normally use 20kg dumbbells in each hand, could go heavier, but I prefer doing more yards for endurance and to help with weight loss.

My natural weight for my height at 5'11 is around 75kgs to be in the right bmi range, that'll only happen when I'm dead.

Same height as me
I’d enjoy your life and not get too obsessed with it
I used to fret about fitness level but covid finished the Gym for me
I just stick to swimming but that too is getting noticeable harder as I’m an old bugger now
Only trouble with swimming in pools is boredom
Sea swimming or lakes is better
Bala lake cold but terrific

The MyProtein one is almost always on sale in Tesco. £8 with a club card and lasts me over a month.

I get knackered easily and brain fog a lot in the winter months so I'm going to give it a go and so yesterday I ordered the Nutrition Geeks brand. £9.99 for 3 months supply.

I was a bit reticent to partake as I remember footballers using it in the 90s and IIRC wasn't there some sort of health scare involving heart issues with it...?

Extensive googling says that it's now deemed safe based on years of research so I'm taking the plunge.

Might be an idea to check with doctor though
There are a few side effects but it is generally “ safe”
Personally, I’m
Just happy to see another day above ground
Biggest issue for many these days are mental health as these are very uncertain times
That said, our parents , grandparents lived through a world war when nowt was certain
