You are due to have a major heart operation. Which surgeon would you choose?
Option 1 - An apprentice very young surgeon, 32 years old, just out of medical school, who has "potential" to be a great doctor. "He's going to be great," they all cry. He did do a few minor stitches in a small GP practice to a reasonable standard, but nothing spectacular, as a part of his training. Option 2 - A vastly experienced surgeon who has performed thousands of successful heart operations, 55 years old, worked in various settings and situations. Extremely confident and been there, seen it, done it. They actually saved lives during a major catastrophe and they know how to react and exactly what to do.
Who would you choose for a major operation?
I know Solak would choose the young one with potential, he could advertise him and make money from the adverts but his ghost would realise all too late that it was the wrong choice.
