Southampton At Hull City The Verdict on 06:58 - Sep 22 with 1744 viewssaintwizzler

The worse display by a Southampton team I’ve seen in a long time.
Totally outplayed by a poor Hull side.

Bazunu has been ok up to this game but looked a frightened rabbit in the head lights.
His flap for the opener was awful. We need a keeper that installs belief into the defence.

Roerslev is a new signing that looks worse than the two Right Backs we let go in Bree and Sugawara.
Ramsay skinned him all game in the derby and he was again poor on Saturday.

Harwood-Bellis is going through the motions. Since his England cap he thinks he’s something else.
He isn’t. Wood needs to start instead of him.

Jander is too lightweight. Brushed off the ball far too easily.

Azaz was he playing? Has done nothing in any of the games since joining the club.

Praise for Adam Armstrong. Great finish. He should be starting on the Right Wing.
Fellows was a strange buy. Armstrong and Fraser can play there. Did we need another Right Winger?

Robinson starts on the left on Saturday please.

Probably the award of worse player on the pitch just beating Bazunu is Damion Downes.
A 6ft 4 player who can’t win a header.
Had a glorious chance to score but fluffed it.
I thought Mara was bad but this kid takes the biscuit.

Surely Ross Stewart has to start on Saturday.
He can’t do any worse.

Brown Nose Blackmore said in commentary on my stream that a couple of staff including Phil ‘we can’t compete financially in The Premier League’ Parsons were taken ill on the morning and didn’t travel.
They probably saw the weather forecast or had been to dinner at Flynn Downes’ the night before.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

hard to disagree with any of that, we are overloaded with average 'creative' winger types and wing backs
what we actually lack severely is good players in all areas
No decent full backs, maybe Manning who wasn't bad Saturday - no solid competent CBs - lightweight midfield - and shot shy forwards who never break or gamble quickly
and as for our keepers, still lacking there ffs how long has it been??
All led by a young PE teacher who talks a good game
We shall be here a while

I think I may have said this before, but I cannot help but think something is very wrong behind the scenes at SFC. As Nick says in his report, the same old issues crop up. But those same old issues have been here for many years and through two owners and countless managers.

We have a clear habit of making good players worse and hardly any I can think of, if at all, have improved since coming here. I think someone needs to go in there as a top football expert and have a look at everything from diet, to training, tactics, coaching, the backroom staff, everything behind the scenes and find out what this cancer is. For sure this cannot just be about wrong mangers, players, coaching....there has to be a very negative cloud hanging somewhere behind the scenes for things to be this bad so consistently.

Replacing Dibling with Fellows and Fernandes with Azaz doesn’t help.

But as Nick says in his report... "one hit the nail on the head when talking about Finn Azaz to his mate, he said last year for Middlesbrough he tore Hull apart, that he was the best player he saw in the Championship by a country mile, but he was a shadow of his former self."

So what indeed has happened to that version of Azaz? Why is he all of a sudden crap? it is us. We are destroying players somehow.

Perhaps like us he is wondering what the game plan is. If there is one?
Christ knows what the formation is when Still throws all the subs on.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

Azaz, Fellows , Charles even Ronnie Edwards were very good for their other sides in the championship last season . Fellows and Charles are playing well for us.

Poll: Would you take an Fa Cup win if it meant relegation to the championship ?

Charles has been our best midfielder since Still dropped Robinson to squeeze in the players bought in the summer. But, Jay Robinson is still the best player in the squad by a country mile.

Poll: Les Reed in or out?

Were they all shining lights in bad sides last season?

Azaz looks a mystery to me. He is as slow as you'll ever see a player; he needs to be really skilful to make up for it.

Poll: Would you take going down to League 1 if it meant new owners coming in?
