Players Performance assessed by television viewers as against fans at the game. 19:09 - Sep 30 with 3194 viewsnumptydumpty

i think Clive and others raised this from the Sheff Weds game.

i only saw this game on the feed and Madsen, Mbuenge and RND were the best performers that day from my viewing position but those at the ground were of a different viewpoint.

Have to say also, when i have said who has done well, when i been in attendance, armchair viewers seem to have experienced a whole different
ball game.

Not really sure why am posting this - so comments on my inane dullness are welcome !!!!

Perhaps the tv commentary has an influence which you don't get at the game. Generally those who describe the action on tv say who they think has been good and those not having such a good day. People at the game don't get led what to think by commentary so not surprising they view it differently.

It depends who the commentators are - if I watch on the club feed and they have Tyler and Andy Sinton for example, I enjoy listening to their commentary. If it's a game on Sky with Andy Hinchcliffe or Don Goodman, I'm pulling my hair out at the utter cr@p they are spouting!!!

You don't get any sense of the kinetic energy, the movement, pace and ferocity on telly. One of the really obvious things at Wednesday was how much more energy they had in terms of closing down and breaking in transition. I'm not sure that really came over on telly, I think you needed to see the whole playing area in front of you to see it.
For instance, Madsen was strolling around and allowed too many passing opportunities to be closed down simply by being too slow in his approach - he clearly needed more zip and urgency about him. I'm not sure this would have been so obvious on telly.
