Hypothetical Question Play Off Final Saints v Pompey 20:20 - Oct 1 with 564 views | Southamptonfan | Bearing in mind there is a bubble when we play each other - Let's say we play Pompey in the play off final at Wembley, 38000 fans each. How would they manage it? Both sets of fans would be everywhere. Could they make 38 000 fans all take coaches? There wouldn't be enough parking bays. Has there ever been huge rivals playing in a final at Wembley.

Hypothetical Question Play Off Final Saints v Pompey on 20:27 - Oct 1 with 526 views | PatfromPoole | Portsmouth would sell all 90,000 tickets themselves. With 500,000 of them outside the ground begging to get in. No problems would then arise.

Hypothetical Question Play Off Final Saints v Pompey on 20:29 - Oct 1 with 514 views | kingslandstand1 | There was the Merseyside FA Cup Final back in 89 (?), but are they really "huge"rivals noting there are apparently opposing fans in some same families for instance

Everton v Liverpool as you say, there are fans of both in the same street, in the same family. And they speak the same. Although they don't like each other.

The Drongo 130 probably does. Got it on ‘ignore member’ so won’t be able to see if it replies 🙂

Hypothetical Question Play Off Final Saints v Pompey on 21:34 - Oct 1 with 387 views | SaintNick | Perhaps the biggest rivals who have met at Wembley were Sheffield Wednesday V Sheffield United in an FA Cup semi back in the 1990's and of course Spurs V Arsenal in a Charity Sheild I think

So what do you think they would do, if 90000 Saints and Pompey fans were travelling to London? Let everyone make their own way? [Post edited 2 Oct 0:46]

It was completely different back then, that final was post Hillsbrough and there was a sense of one big togetherness. It really isnt the same now. Anfield derbies are fairly sterile with most Liverpool fans having no recognisable rivalry with Everton fans. Everton fans are kept in afterwards as well which is a bit odd, presumably to let the tourists get home easier. At the same time, the Goodison derbies, the same police force allow Liverpool fans to leave at the same time as blues (as they should). If there was now a Cup final with the two teams, I wouldnt know what the atmosphere would be like. As fan bases, we are very different.
