Excuse me, wtf is going on here with Barnsley?

In fact, _most_ teams do better than usual when they play an away game at the end of a three-game week

(I actually typed out "three-games-in-eight-days-stretch" in protest at it being referred to as a three game week, but it's quite laborious so maybe that's why people say it)

Loads and loads of other teams thinking “ah Barnsley at home, they’re sht, we’ll rest some for that” in their own 3 game weeks.

What's the time period for that graph?

Barnsley had that crazy Covid season in 2020/21 when five subs were introduced and Valerian Ismael had the three forwards charging around like blue-arsed flies for an hour before subbing them all on sixty minutes and throwing on three more Duracell bunnies to charge around and chase everything down.

Facing that as the third game in a three game week can't have been much fun!

Barnsley won 23 games that season and finished in the playoffs

It’s from 2015 and it excludes the lockdown games.

I’ve worked it out.

Teams that come from nice parts of the country are desperate to spend some time at home and football is the last thing on their minds.

Those that exist in relative shit holes love the away day experience so much they would be happy playing seven away games in a week, in fact every week.

Really enjoying Ned's prediction musings.

Thanks Ned!

Now I can be a bit pedantic about some things. I like attention to detail and accuracy.

HOWEVER....... it's a three game week. Game one usually finishes at about 5pm and the third game is normally a 3pm start SEVEN DAYS and SEVEN SLEEPS LATER. That is two hours less than a full week!

Even if you turn it on it's head it works out at a week plus about two hours.

So it's three game week.😁

Right now I'd be happy with a 4 game week.

I think it was Dave Thomas in AKUTRs who said that if anyone mentioned Keith Houchen it was only possible to picture him horizontally flying through the air as per the '87 FA Cup Final.

On the same basis, I reckon Paul Smyth's photo in the match programme ought to show him upside down in mid-somersault.

Don't know what you were worried about.

Just a touch better than Wednesday (both the team and the evening).
