The draw hasn't been made yet. At this moment in time (obviously things can change), Wales are projected to be in pot 1 which would guarantee a pot 4 team at home, then if successful it would be a draw to see if they get home advantage against the winner of pot 2 or pot 3 in the play off final, in the above circumstance Wales would not play a pot 1 team as pot 1 teams don't play each other.

It’s too convoluted and there are too many permutations for me. Who are we likely to be playing?

This probably makes it worse if anything, but Simon Davies is a Jack. I agree, you’d think otherwise based on his commentary.

What other group of supporters are called by the city they play in and not their nationality. You never here the London crowd, Paris crowd or Madrid crowd. |
Yeah Welsh crowd for sure, but the stadium has the word Cardiff in it so what can you do?

It is. As it currently stands we’d will be at home in the playoff semi final to anyone of 10+ teams. Our playoff final, should we win the semi final would be away to one of Italy, Turkey, Ukraine or Serbia. Results over the final games could of course shuffle that. Ideally we need both Sweden & Serbia not to finish 2nd, so that we can get back into pot 1. Second round (play-off): Sixteen teams (twelve group runners-up and four best Nations League group winners, based on the Nations League overall ranking, that finished outside the top two of their qualifying group) will be drawn into four paths, playing two rounds of single-match play-offs (semi-finals with the seeded teams to host, followed by finals, with the home teams to be drawn). The four path winners will qualify for the World Cup.

Ok, so if I’m reading that right, as it stands we are would be very likely to play a pot 1 team (as they would have a home semi against a lower ranked team) if we got to the final. We wouldn’t necessarily play them away, that’s 50/50. Assuming of course, we win our semi final. It’s possible, but it’s becoming clear last night was our best chance

Wales v Belgium: WCQ Match day thread UPDATED on 12:34 - Oct 14 with 658 views | jack247 | I know people dislike it, think it’s friendlies etc, but this is where the Nations league can help us going forward. We couldn’t deal with the better technical players last night. Six games against that level of opposition, even though we’ll quite likely lose all of them, will put us in a much better position for the Euro qualifiers. Just got to hope we can scrape into pot 1 over the next two games now.

No, we will be in the playoffs regardless. Nations league placing. Winning both games gives us a shot at an easier route when we get there.
Wales v Belgium: WCQ Match day thread UPDATED on 15:13 - Oct 14 with 454 views | Fireboy2 | Got back home about 1.30 after a decent 3.5 hr drive. Still p!ssed off with the result, 1 dodgy pen, 1 stonewall pen, a cracking goal from them that shouldn't have happened, sorba 🙄 and a 4th when we were pushing up. Even though we created enough chances to win the defense let us down yet again. Something has to be done about that. Lucky that we have got a play off place, north macedonia will play the same way as Belgium so we really have to score as many as possible against Liechtenstein to level the goal difference up with macedonia as we could drop down into a lower pot therefore making it even harder to get tbe the WC. I was confident before last night, I am not so today 🙄

We were outclassed at the back. We actually looked ok going forward and caused them enough problems. Very difficult when you’re up against a player like Doku who can dribble past two or three and suddenly shape goes out the window. I find Bellamys approach a breath of fresh air, particularly after the last couple of years under Page, but maybe we need to be a little less cavalier against that kind of quality. We’re all a bit deflated, but we’d have seen that as an exciting performance a couple of years ago.
